Can high blood pressure cause weight loss?
It did for me for sure... I used to be 122 / 81 when I weighed 400lbs... now at 220 it is 90/60. I do suffer dizzy spells when I stand up, my feet and hands get cold now... and obviously without the extra insulation, I am colder...
The weight has only been off for about 3 months, so perhaps it will still level out some, who knows.

Prudence, what happened to your cat is unfortunate. Tramdol is a widely-used opioid analgesic, but it was designed for human patients in mind. Does that mean it is unsuitable for animals? No. In fact, tramadol has seen a lot of action in veterinary medicine. I imagine your cat was given too high a dose, or had not built up the tolerance to opioids necessary for the high dose. This can cause death, in humans and animals. As a pharmacist, I have seen patients on tramdol for years, and tolerate them well.

It is very unlikely to. Green tea contains anti-oxidants, which are good for your overall system, and honey has anti septic and anti-inflammatory properties, but also sugar, and the green tea may contain caffeine, which may temporarily raise the heart rate and blood pressure.
Blood pressure is cardiac output x resistance, or heart rate x stroke volume, so if HR increases but SV normal BP will rise. Things that will raise your heart rate are caffeine, alcohol, smoking, lack of exercise/inactivity, high fat foods, high salt foods, aswell as other risk factors you can't control such as ethnicity. To reduce blood pressure, follow a low salt, low fat diet high in fruit and vegetables. Reduce excess weight if you are overweight, quit smoking if you smoke, and gradually increase activity levels, aiming for at least 30 mins of activity every day. Consult your doctor about any planned lifestyle changes. If your BP is very high, or if you are diabetic for example, it may not be safe to begin a diet and exercise programme without a prior consultation.
