Are goal post moorings used in squirt hockey?

It is random and depends on various things like the rink, type of game, etc. Sometimes they use them, sometimes they don't. I'd say they are used more often than not though.

Does a player in the penalty box receive a minus if scored on?

No, Players do not receive a plus when scoring on a PP or a minus when a PPG is scored against there team. Only even strength goals, or goals scored by a shorthanded team, count towards any given player's +/- stats.

What is decking in ice hockey?

Decking is slang for a big body check/punch during fight delivered from one person to another during a hockey game.

How does overtime shootouts affect points that a hockey team gets?

What does stop time period mean in hockey?

In recreational hockey, many games are played under a curfew. In order to get the game done in time, sometimes it is played with a running clock (meaning, the clock does not stop for whistles).

Stop time periods just refers to the clock stopping for whistles. Some games use a combination depending on the score of the game or time of the game. For example, my local rec league uses running time for the entire game except for if the score differential is less than 5 in the last 5 minutes of the game. This helps ensure the game will finish in the hour time slot.

How do you question an official during a hockey game?

The official(s) (referee) are supposed to refrain from discussing any questions regarding penalty calls etc. with players.

Those types of discussions should only take place between the Captain, Alternate Captains and/or the Coaching staff.

If your captain believes there is an issue with any call, particularly one that can change the game like a penalty stroke or penalty shot, they should quietly ask the referee about it at an appropriate time, such as when time is next stopped or while preparations are being made for the play and the referee is not busy. If another player believes there is a problem, they should ask their captain to speak on their behalf.

Why do only whites play ice hockey?

Answer

many black people play hockey. As stated above the number of black hockey players is growing. Don't think the low number of black players has anything to do with prejudice or racism, however. It is simply a matter of population. The nations that produce elite hockey players, (Canada, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Czech Republic, etc.) simply have smaller black populations compared to Caucasion citizens. In the one country that does have a large black population, the USA, black athletes tend to gravitate to other sports rather than to hockey.

Can you be in motion during a faceoff in hockey?

The ref usually waits until all players are in position before dropping the puck. No player can go offside (cross onto the opponent's side of the faceoff) or get too close to the faceoff dot before the puck is dropped. The center (the player taking the faceoff) cannot have a false start. If any of this happens, the center is kicked out of the circle. If the player replacing the center is kicked out as well, then it is a delay of game penalty.

When is the nhl schedule released?

A revised schedule will probably be released ASAP if/when a new CBA is agreed upon and the present lockout ends. In the mean time I would reccomend supporting any local amateur teams that may exist in your location. You may even want to consider not returning to watching the NHL at all so they get the idea that there are consequences for having lockouts every time a CBA expires.

If the puck goes underneath a defensive player while in the crease and then the player uses his hand to knock the puck out of the crease not gripping the puck. Is it a penatly shot?

Players in their defensive zone can hand pass the puck to anyone in the defensive zone; therefore, they can "shovel" the puck under their goalie in the crease to stop play. Play would be stopped provided the goalie was in check by an attacking player; otherwise, the goalie would be given a minor penalty if he didn't get rid of the puck within 3 secs. This penalty rule is at the discretion of the referee.

With regards to penalties and penalty shots associated to players playing the puck with their hands:

If any player other than the goalie closes his hand on the puck or picks the puck off the ice with his hand "OUTSIDE" of the goal crease, a minor penalty will be assessed most likely a delay of game.

If any player other than the goalie closes his hand on the puck or picks the puck off the ice with his hand "INSIDE" the crease, a penalty or penalty shot will be awarded to the non-offending team. (at the discretion of the referee)

If the puck is in the attacking zone past the other teams goal net what dose this mean?

Nothing. It just means that the puck is behind the opposing team's net. There is space between the net and the boards unlike a soccer field.

Can an opposing hockey player interfere with the goalie?

Its a very touchy subject i recently played in a tournament and went behind the net to get the puck and checked a player resulting in a injury . they didnt know what to call. i was assesed a major and game misconduct for boarding . im guessing if the player wasnt hurt it would be okay.
