As adolescence iguanas will eat insects and other meat proteins, however these proteins are hard for the iguana to digest as it gets older. They should be fed primary an assortment dark leafy green vegetables such as bac choy, and romaine lettus.
I'll use the Green Iguana as my example. Babies are primarily insectivores, eating some vegetable matter. Adults are nearly completely herbivores.

Probably not, the usual causes of iguanas tails turning black is because the tank is not warm enough, you will most likely have to take it to a vet to have the tail snipped.

Iguanas have many different behaviors. They can be potty trained to poop in a bathtub once they are bigger. They get to be 4-6 feet long and only eat veggies and fruits. they love baths and hanging out around the house. Baby iguanas are very fast and get lost easily in homes though. They are usually gentle and most are nice to children and other pets. However during mating season and if not handled a lot male iguanas can get snappy and angry. Also during mating season male Iguanas will turn orange. Bobbing of head to a owner or an opened mouth means stay away. However, bobbing of head to a mate is a flirty behavior. A happy Iguana will lick surfaces and their owners and walk slowly around. vibrating head means they are proud, and closing eyes is usually a passive behavior as well. Iguanas need proper sun bulbs, humidity, and feeding. They can not eat seeds, oranges, lemons, or limes, spinach, potatoes, or tomatoes. They also need calcium and vitamin powder sprinkled on their food. Collard greens, green beans, raspberries, blueberries, mustard greens, and apples are good foods for them.

Iguanas eat mainly insects such as crickets. They can also be fed mealworms, earthworms, and fruits.

Insects should only be fed as a treat since they mostly eat plants.

PLEASE do NOT feed baby food!!! If you search online you will find tons of evidence of the dangers of MBD (Metabolic Bone Disease) resulting from a poor unbalanced diet. One of the most common causes is from feeding baby food, due to all the misinformation that is still out there.

Back in 94 when these guys were re discovered there was no formulated powder or "specific" food for cresties, now 18years later, multiple breeders, wholesalers, even most chain stores advise to use the formulated "Crested gecko diet". Crested gecko diet comes in a couple of well known manufacturer's: Repashy, Clarks and T-Rexx.

People would have to add multiple vitamins such as: Magnesium Gluconate, Canthaxanthin, Calcium Propionate and Potassium Sorbate Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D Supplement, Choline Chloride, Ascorbic Acid Phosphate, Vitamin E Supplement etc... in their babyfood for it to be sufficient.

Unless one is supplementing their baby food with these ingredients it is not going to stimulate growth and development positively.

MBD is not caused from baby food. MBD is a lack of calcium. Baby food does not provide this calcium and if it is the main diet of an animal, they will start to draw calcium from the bone. Baby food is packed with sugars and preservatives. These great "Taste's" become highly addicting. Once a crested has fancied the taste and will not choose to eat anything else, it's extremely hard to lean them off the baby food. This is where MBD plays a role. The gecko will not eat anything but baby food and 99% of people buying baby food don't supplement before placing it in the tank.

Crested geckos can ingest an occational cricket. You are also able to purchase a powder to mix with water, they enjoy this aswell. This powdered mix is known as MRP (meal replacement powder).

Remember, if you keep your gecko in good heath, it may live to be 15 years old, so feed it as you would yourself, it is God's animal, so take care of yourself and your gecko.

Yes! But plain white paper only... ink can be toxic!

We used exactly that for ours and she loved it! Shredded it even finer until it felt almost like material.

White toilet rolls or tissues with no scent or lotion are also good.

its ok.......but if you have ink on the paper it could hurt them.

Many snakes are lizard-eaters and a hungry snake would also eat an iguana.
