Generally,yes. I signed up when I was about twelve, and there wasn't really anything bad. There's nothing really wrong on there. You can perform interactive actions with other users, but there's nothing explicit with it. The worst that I can remember was a kick in the jewels and some kissing, buts that's it. Then again I haven't been on in ages, so maybe you should check the website.

As soon as someone hacked me I went immediately to My email to find a letter from IMVU that says I have changed it. Then I clicked the link and followed the instructions that were given. And I got my account back the same day.

You have to download the IMVU 3D Messenger. It runs on any Windows PC, so don't worry about it. Hopefully the download doesn't cause and viruses, but it may occur at times. Good luck. :)

You cannot have children in IMVU, considering it is an online chat game, not a game like the Sims4.

IMVU always you to change the gender of your avatar by changing it in Member Profile or purchasing one from the shop catalog. There are cheat codes posted on forums to which your changes gender to either.

You can buy credits or get free ones.

Buy: When you want to buy something and you don't have enough money, it should give you the option to buy credits.

Free: On your home page there is a tab for free credits and you get those through answering questions.

Go to your inventory, click on anything else you want to wear, and it'll show up on your avatar, if you just want to take off an item, click on that item's icon and it'll be off, there will probably something to replace that if it's a bottom, or if your avatar is a female.
