An 11 year old could play IMVU, but shouldn't. There are lots of other games for 11 year olds to play. IMVU has some "words" that kids don't need to see. Even though you have to be 13+ to play IMVU, some kids lie about their age and still play.

Generally,yes. I signed up when I was about twelve, and there wasn't really anything bad. There's nothing really wrong on there. You can perform interactive actions with other users, but there's nothing explicit with it. The worst that I can remember was a kick in the jewels and some kissing, buts that's it. As soon as someone hacked me I went immediately to My email to find a letter from IMVU that says I have changed it. Then I clicked the link and followed the instructions that were given. And I got my account back the same day.

You have to download the IMVU 3D Messenger. It runs on any Windows PC, so don't worry about it. Hopefully the download doesn't cause and viruses, but it may occur at times. Good luck. :)
