16.6 births per 1000 population (as per 2009 estimation)
The countries with the highest infant mortality rate in Europe are:
All numbers equal deaths per 1,000 births.
Every country listed above, with the exception of Bulgaria, is either transcontinental or geo-politically considered European. If disregarding these countries, the five highest infant mortality rates in Europe would be:
Life expectancy in Sierra Leone is quite low, the life expectancy of the total population is 41.24 years, the male is estimated to live to about 38.92 years and the female, 43.64 years. It is listed as the 214th lowest country in terms of life expectancy.

34/1000 this year, and in the 50s in recent years, estimates the CIA world fact book, although I've seen as high as the 70s on other internet sources. I'm guessing in reality it is much higher due to under reporting in the countryside. The fact that child marriages (a major contribution to IMR) is still practiced illegally in many parts of the country shows how accurately the government can survey the vast rural populace.
In 2008, the estimated data is 52 infants died per 1000 live births. 30.15 deaths per 1000 live birth
All most all developing countries have malnutrition and under nutrition of mother and child. Due to poor hygiene they suffer repeated attacks of diarrhea, pneumonia and measles and other infectious diseases. So they have high infant mortality rate.
Mortality means to die.
Everyone in every country dies, so all countries have 100% mortality rate.
According to the CIA World Factbook's 2007 estimates, Angola has the highest infant mortality rate, at 184.44 deaths per 1,000 live births. According to the 2006 United Nations World Population Prospects report, Sierra Leone has the highest infant mortality rate, at 160.3 deaths per 1,000 live births.
The African death rates are high. 1.5 million children die of intestinal disorders. In South Africa alone millions die of AIDS. Between starvation, AIDS and Malaria, Africa has the highest death rate of any continent.

The best way that I can explain this to you is if you hold up a blue card (stimulus) to an infant, at first they may become interested. After continuous exposure to that card they become uninterested in it anymore (habituated). So in the technical terms after continuous exposure to a stimulus it is common for an infant even adults to become habituated to that stimulus.
Babies are very sensitive when it comes to their mothers. From a few days after birth babies are able to identify their mothers by the sound of their voice and also their smell.
The infant mortality rate of Morocco is 26 deaths per 1000 live births.
South Asia has an infant mortality rate of 51.64 deaths per 1000 live births but Africa is higher at 61.
When someone dies before they have reached their life expectancy, ie a teenager killed in a car accident or a baby dying of an infection... no one expects a baby or teenager to die we expect them to live into old age
average birth rate is 16.31 births /1,000 populations in 2009
