How do you tune up a Infiniti QX4 your self?

Just did one last night on an 2002 QX4. Took 4 hours to do oil and filter, air filter and fuel filter.

The fuel filter is located just behind of the rear axle and in front of the spare tire. 2 hose clamps and 1 bracket holding it in place.

The plugs are alot of work and time consuming if you don't have the right tools to make it happen. For the driver's side 3 plugs you have to remove the throttle bottle and the hoses that are in the way. On the passenger side there is some wiring harnessess that have to be moved to get at them. All of the plugs are about 6 to 8 inches inside the block and have a coil pack on it. Do not break these, there are expensive to replace. Each one has a wiring plug which needs to be disconnected at the time of removal.

The oil filter is behind the plastic shroud underneath the front and cannot be reached from the top. You have to be under the truck to do this. While you are there, under the truck, drain the oil.

Have fun.

What are quantitative techniques?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Many of the quantitative techniques fall into two broad categories: # Interval estimation # Hypothesis tests Interval Estimates It is common in statistics to estimate a parameter from a sample of data. The value of the parameter using all of the possible data, not just the sample data, is called the population parameter or true value of the parameter. An estimate of the true parameter value is made using the sample data. This is called a point estimate or a sample estimate. For example, the most commonly used measure of location is the mean. The population, or true, mean is the sum of all the members of the given population divided by the number of members in the population. As it is typically impractical to measure every member of the population, a random sample is drawn from the population. The sample mean is calculated by summing the values in the sample and dividing by the number of values in the sample. This sample mean is then used as the point estimate of the population mean. Interval estimates expand on point estimates by incorporating the uncertainty of the point estimate. In the example for the mean above, different samples from the same population will generate different values for the sample mean. An interval estimate quantifies this uncertainty in the sample estimate by computing lower and upper values of an interval which will, with a given level of confidence (i.e., probability), contain the population parameter. Hypothesis Tests Hypothesis tests also address the uncertainty of the sample estimate. However, instead of providing an interval, a hypothesis test attempts to refute a specific claim about a population parameter based on the sample data. For example, the hypothesis might be one of the following: * the population mean is equal to 10 * the population standard deviation is equal to 5 * the means from two populations are equal * the standard deviations from 5 populations are equal To reject a hypothesis is to conclude that it is false. However, to accept a hypothesis does not mean that it is true, only that we do not have evidence to believe otherwise. Thus hypothesis tests are usually stated in terms of both a condition that is doubted (null hypothesis) and a condition that is believed (alternative hypothesis). What kind of stereo system is in the Infinity QX 4 2001 edition?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It comes with a Bose system made by Clarion. Clarion has a major problem with the clips breaking that move the CD's in the changer making the CD changer inoperable. Great car, lousy CD player. Buy a 2002 or 2003 if you really want a QX4. The CD player was upgraded.

Why did your infiniti qx4 cut out?

My QX56 began to stall while driving and got progressively worse. The dealer service guys spent over 3 hours diagnosing the problem (supposedly) and even more time on the phone with Infiniti Tech Support. They came back with the recommendation to replace the catalytic converters and told me it would cost $3,500. I took it down the street to an independent guy who, in less than 30 minutes, determined the plugs weren't getting a consistent spark. He then worked backwards until only the computer was left as a possible problem. He called Infiniti Tech Support (the same people the dealer supposedly spoke to) and asked if there were any known issues with the QX56 computer or IPDM (Intelligent Power Distribution Module). They said there were known issues with the IPDM in the QX56, G35, and the Nissan Armada and Titan. He called a different Infiniti dealer to order the IPDM and, as they laughed, asked how many he needed, saying they were "flying of the shelf." But my dealer had no idea about this issue. I paid the dealer $367 for their misdiagnosis. I paid $394 for the independent guy to replace the IPDM and it runs like a champ. Had I spent the $3,500 replacing the catalytic converters, I would have driven off the lot and stalled again - only to have them invent come up with more costly solutions. Incidentally, my catalytic converters are fine...

While I was having the IPDM repaired, I asked them to look at 3 other issues that the dealer had identified as significant problems that needed fixing quickly. The cost for those 3 items would have been $1,600. The independent guy said that there were no existing problems that Infiniti described.

Bottom line: Infiniti dealer suggested $5,100 in work that didn't need to be done and didn't address my problem. I saved $4,700 by getting a second opinion.
