No. The Model 66 does not have user-interchangeable barrels. Your existing gun could be modified by shortening the barrel, adapting for choke tubes and installing rifle sights. sales@countrygunsmith.net

They rarely sell for more than $100. Most of these have had the bolt stripped out and sold back to Sears due to an ongoing recall. Sears used to pay $160 per bolt (I myself sold several back to Sears over the years), but now that has changed to $60.

These guns are rising fast in value due to the "questionable" recall by Sears. They are rapidly approaching $200.00 and climbing fast. Hold on to it and it will be worth really good money in a couple years, there are not many in good condition left.

The 799.xxxxx series air rifles were made by Daisy for Sears. This appears to be a Model 1894 Cactus Carbine. In very good condition it is worth about $45 in excellent condition it is worth about $85.

No, The JC Higgins model 29 is just like the model 31 without a sling. the difference between the model 30 and model 31 is the bolt is on the left on the model 30 and on the right on the models 31 and 29. Models 30 and 31 both had a retractable sling.

I suggest that you go on the web and search for Air gun repair. There are several places that repair out of warranty air guns and rifles all across the US.

There is only a hand full of Sears collectors out there But a Sears gun collector would pay more. at any rate what you have is the first series of JC Higgins guns The 583 Sears code actually means House brand Sears only product made by or in part By Sears Roebuck & co and exclusively sold by Sears. Just after world War Two Sears bought Interest in In High Standard Manufacturing Co.and the rights to manufacture the H&R model 120 from the Harrington & Richardson Arms Co. as part of the Deal H&R manufactured all of the J C Higgins bolt action shotguns 583 1 to 583 13 for High Standard / Sears That is why these guns a referred to as the pre model 10 Half of the 583 13 and every thing after that 583 14 to 583 25 were made by High Standard .these were known as the J C Higgins model 10. Your early H&R manufacture is a really good little shotgun worth keeping. they are excellent Hunters and have plenty of use full fire power. and despite its age its still as good as any thing out their today It has some very interesting History with it To.

The J C Higgins model 33 Pump action 22 are quite scrace and bring good prices The rifles were made by High Standard Manufacturing .they are excellent little rifles of high quality . The rifle was first intoduced in 1954 58380 Sears code 5833502 1961 these rifles were sold by Sears from 1954 to 1962 under the JC Higgins Brand in those Days The rifle was excusive Sears product. Sears owned a part of High Standard from 1962 on High Standard also offerd this model High Standard was always known for high quality well above average. Yes, the chambers are for 2 3/4 in. shells. So far, no one has made a 3 in. 16 ga. shell. I have been told that 16 gauge shells have been made in shorter than 2 3/4", but I have never seen any. Hope this helps.

your gun was made by Savage Stevens eary 50s 16 gauge guns with 36 inch barrels are not common . Its worth about 125 bucks

The rifle you have was made by savage .Not much info out there on them but it is a model 29 savage if the stock is checkerd And a model 25 if not. I have one in my shop at this time that I'm working on They are a nice little gun . Joe
