Joan was taken prisoner and sold to the British. French clergy who were loyal to the british held a mock trial and found Joan guilty on trumped up charges of heresy. She was condemned to be burned at the stake.

Joan of Arc's trial and execution took place in English Controlled Rouen.

Joan of Arc led the French against the invading English so the English hated her and were her enemy. Joan of Arc had enemies because she opposed the English plans to take over France and turn it into their colony. The English leaders hated her because she beat them and destroyed their plans.

The Catholic Church officially made Joan a Saint on May 16, 1920 at a ceremony at the Vatican in Rome. As for her being a Saint most of the people who knew her considered her to already be a Saint while she was alive. The most convincing prononucement comes from her enemies who executed her. There are numerous recorded statements from her executioner and other English soldiers and officials who suffered great remorse because they said they had burned a Saint.

He had since died so could not experience the same fate as Joan.

He was King of France at the time of Joan of Arc, whom he made a Noblewoman- translate Lady Knight- which she was and successfully fought the Battles of Rheims and Orleans... somehow it is not recorded whether he tried to pull any royal strings to save her when she was captured by the Burgundians, and later the English.

She was not tried as a witch. She was accused of witchcraft but was tired for Heresy. It was politically motivated and very difficult to dispute, so it tends to be a rather easy execution and Joan was clearly an enemy of the English Crown.

In a sense, as Domremy was what we would now call a Hick town, but by rural standards she and family were relatively well-off. Joan's contributions were primarily to the French people and the monarchy and not to the Church. However, while she commanded the army she was very strict about her soldiers attending Mass and severely punished any she caught using the name of God in vain.

Joan of Arc was never a Queen (of anywhere) - she was a military leader at the age of about 17.
