Juan Ponce de Leon

Juan Ponce de Leon's purpose for his journey was to find the Fountain of Youth which was a big myth in Europe back then. While looking for the fountain though he did end up landing in present day Florida and he is the one who gave Florida its name. He never found the fountain at Florida so he then went looking at a Carribean island called Bimini, he didnt find it there either. He had also conquered Puerto Rico and established San Juan, he was the governor for a while until being removed.

Historians really have no idea. What we do know about him comes from his exploring.

Juan Ponce de León's father's name was Juan Ponce de León y Figueroa.

Ponce de Leon probably believed that his voyage was not a success. He did not find the fabled Fountain of Youth which was the purpose of the mission.
