Explain the difference between velocity and speed?
Velocity includes both speed (magnitude of the velocity) and direction, while speed is just the magnitude of the velocity without any indication of direction. So velocity is a vector quantity, whereas speed is a scalar quantity.
How do you figure out miles per hour?
You divide the distance traveled by the number of hours it took to travel it. For example, a 500-mile trip completed in 10 hours = 500 / 10 = an average of 50 miles per hour.
Heat is a form of energy which when added to a body increases its internal energy and is responsible for the change in thermal condition of the body. The addition of heat generally increases the temperature of the body. Hence temperature is the quantity which gives us the degree of disordered molecular kinetic energy and also provides an indication of the internal energy flow. When two bodies are in contact, internal energy flows from the body at higher temperature to the one at lower temperature irrespective of the internal energy content of each body.
Temperature of a body is that physical quantity which determines the degree of hotness or coldness of the body and the direction of heat flow.
Important differences between heat and temperature :-
(a) Heat is a form of energy and has the capacity of doing work. Temperature determines the degree of hotness or coldness of the body.
(b) Heat is the cause while temperature is the effect.
(c) When heat is supplied to a body without changing its state, the temperature of the body increases and rise in temperature is directly proportional to the quantity of heat supplied.
(d) Equality of temperature does not imply that heat content of both the bodies are the same.
(e) The direction of flow of heat depends only on its temperature but not on its heat content.
How fast can an F-22 fighter jet fly in miles per hour?
McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet Top speed is 1,190 mph (Mach 1.8).
How do you find height when you know mass and kinetic energy?
....actually you can... there are several formulas to follow but it is not too difficult.
First, the formula for Kinetic energy is as follows: KE=(1/2)mv^2 If you have mass and Kinetic Energy (KE) then you can solve for velocity(V).
Second, use velocity(V) to solve the formula V=g(t) for time, where V= velocity, g= gravity, which is 9.8 and t=time.
Finally, solve for height by using the formula H= (1/2)gt^2
This should give you the answer you need. :)
At sea level, Mach 80 would be approximately 97,488 kilometers per hour (60,596 miles per hour). This speed is significantly faster than the speed of sound, which is about 1,235 kilometers per hour (767 miles per hour) in dry air at 20°C (68°F).
What makes a ball bounce higher?
A ball bounces because it's shape changes when it hits another object, then it returns to it's original form, pushing itself away from the object. When a ball is cold it's molecules don't move as much, so the shape changes less when it hits an object.
An object's energy due to its relative position?
Potential energy is the energy that an object possesses due to its position in a force field or interaction with other objects. It is dependent on the object's position or configuration within the system. This energy can be released or converted into other forms of energy depending on the interactions involved.
430knots is how many feet per second?
To convert knots to feet per second, you can multiply by 1.68781. Therefore, 430 knots is approximately 725 feet per second.
Liter per hour convert to meter cube per hour?
To convert liters per hour (L/h) to cubic meters per hour (m³/h), you can use the conversion factor of 1 liter = 0.001 cubic meters. So, if you have a flow rate of 1 L/h, it is equivalent to 0.001 m³/h. You can then multiply the liters per hour by 0.001 to get the flow rate in cubic meters per hour.
The velocity of the particle is given by the derivative of its position with respect to time. Since the x-coordinate increases at a steady 10 m/s, the velocity in the x-direction is constant at 10 m/s. To find the angle of inclination of the line joining the particle, we can calculate the tangent of the angle using the derivative of the equation of the parabola at the particle's x-coordinate and then find the arctangent of this value. The slope of the tangent line at a point on the parabola y = x^2 is given by 2x, so at the particle's x-coordinate, the angle of inclination is arctan(2x) = arctan(2*10) = arctan(20).
Why is the limit of mach no 1 at the throat of nozzle?
The Mach number is the ratio of an object's speed to the speed of sound in the medium it's travelling in. At the throat of a nozzle, the flow becomes choked, meaning it can no longer accelerate to higher speeds. Therefore, the Mach number reaches its limit of 1 at the throat because the flow is moving at the speed of sound at that point.
Where does a pendulum have the least amount of kinetic energy?
In a pendulum, the kinetic energy is least when it is farthest up in its swing. At this point or maximum height, it has the maximum potential energy. Because at this point the pendulum also becomes motionless for a short duration, the kinetic energy is zero because the speed is zero.
True or false the greater the surface area of an object the greater the air resistance?
True. Air resistance is proportional to surface area, with larger surface areas creating more drag as the object moves through the air. This can result in the object experiencing greater resistance and slowing down.
Characteristics of Kinetic Energy?
The good things about heat is that it keeps you warm and it can be bad at the sometime's it is good. Like it can cause global warning but heat can cook things , make things , and keep your body at a curtian temp but I'm just in grade 7 and i don't know how to answer this question but i hope i helped you . from angel .b z
Yes, work done has a unit. It is usually measured in joules (J) in the MKS (meter-kilogram-second) system or in foot-pounds (ft-lb) in the imperial system. Work done is defined as the product of force applied and the distance over which the force is applied.
The velocity of blood is slowest in the?
The velocity of blood is slowest in the capillaries. This allows for maximum exchange of nutrients, gases, and wastes between the blood and the surrounding tissues.
3 examples of an inclined plane?
Inclined planes are usually used for making work easier. They are used as loading ramps on trucks, as a away to help people in wheelchairs have the access they need, and they are used as slides, for fun.
How can kinetic energy be transferred into heat energy?
Hi everyone,
Energy, like a a question the same, can be transferred by Kinetic or potential energy, but the most common way is:
Energy is transferred by the movement of atoms,
Atoms that can insulate heat the best is the ones
that have atoms close together.
Atoms that are poor insulators have atoms that are
atoms far apart, or spaced out.
I hope this helps, everyone!
i've used this for my science fair project, and it got me 3rd place :D

How fast can a Dolphin swim in MPH?
Dolphins can swim at speeds of up to 20-25 miles per hour (32-40 kilometers per hour).
Can any object have mechanical energy even if its momentum is zero. Explain?
Yes - mechanical energy includes both gravitational potential energy, and kinetic energy. If an object's momentum is zero, then its kinetic energy will also be zero, but its potential energy can be positive or negative, depending on whether the object is above or below the chosen reference level.
What will happen to momentun if kinetic energy is tripled?
It depends on the mass of the object.K.E = 1/2mv2 =1/2mv*v = 1/2pv where p = momentum = mass * velocity.That is K.E = 1/2 pv.momentum depends on mass and velocity.Let in the first case K.E =1/2pv....(1) in the second case K.E = 1/2p1v but p1 = 3p. Then K.E = 1/2*3pv = 3*1/2pv = 3*K.E.
