Is glutathione safe for breastfeeding?
Oral glutathione will not raise your glutathione values. However, you may safely take it if you are breastfeeding.
If you would like to raise your glutathione levels, and you are breastfeeding, you can safely take the building blocks or precursors for raising glutathione. The breast milk you are giving your baby is very high in bonded cysteine, and so it would be safe to take bonded cysteine if you are breastfeeding.
How many calories do you lose when breast feeding?
its a good rule of thumb to add atleast 500 cal. to your daily diet and its good to use that extra 500 cal in the best way you can. a good example is to add them in the form of fruits and veggies. carrots, broccoli, spinich, tomatoes bananas, pears and those are just a few of the good ones and its good to have a couple oz. of peanut butter and an oz. or two of tuna is also a great way to use up those extra cal. i hope this helps and good luck.
What age does women produce breast milk?
Girls do not get breast milk until they are pregnant. Breast milk is not needed unless they need to feed their baby. Breast milk will usually come around week 17.
That is hardly accurate at all. Firstly, men and women can lactate, even babies male or female can produce leakage it's all about a hormonal imbalance. And true "breast milk" does NOT come "around week 17" usually 7 months into a pregnancy colostrum is produced, no two pregnancies are the same however. Most women start producing real breast milk about 3 days after delivery. Again it's different for everyone.
Why do women have milk in there breast after they have baby's?
Lactation by women who are not pregnant or have not given birth is not unheard of. It could be due to frequent stimulation, or to a hormonal imbalance. It would be a good idea to talk it over with a gynecologist.
When does your period start after stopping breast feeding?
It will start back up within a few months. It is possible to ovulate during this time so be careful.
Don't rely on breastfeeding as a source of birth control... I started back up at 6 weeks postpartum, and I'm breastfeeding my son. The average time, I think, is about 6 months postpartum, but then there are people like me who ovulated 4 weeks after giving birth! (Note: I've known people who didn't start up for a year of two after giving birth.)
What stimulates the production of milk in the breast tissue of a mother?
The hormone prolactin stimulates breast milk production. Prolactin is released from the anterior pituitary gland and the production of prolactin is stimulated by dopamine, oxytocin and thyroid releasing hormone.
Can pepto bismol be taken while breast feeding?
Pepto-Bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) is a Category C drug. Adequate studies have NOT been done to determine its effect, if any, on a human fetus and adverse effects have been shown in animal studies. Category C drugs should be taken only if the potential benefit to the mother can be shown to outweight the possible risk to the fetus. Since several other drugs exist that can provide the same type of relief as Pepto-Bismol with a lesser risk factor, you would be better off taking one of those medications and avoiding any risk.
What does it mean when a girl is leaking breast milk?
sadly im not sure, but when i was twelve i had lumps in my breasts and my doctor asked if they leaked to get rid of something. i dont know if its a good sign or bad sign. but atleast you know you are not alone. :)
Breast milk is made by hormones in a pregnant mother to be body. There are milk glads in a woman's breast that first produce a liquid called colostrum . Colostrum turns to milk after a day or two following the delivery of the baby. (it can take up to 4 days depending on how well your baby nurses)
I hope this helps

How do you make a woman lactate?
I don't think you could "make" a woman lactate. It is certainly very possible for a woman to induce lactation without being pregnant. This process takes a bit of work and effort by the woman. An important element in inducing lactation is for the woman to have a strong desire for her milk to come in. The tone of the question suggests the possibility of one person forcing a woman to lactate using medications without the woman's consent. This would not only be wrong it would be doomed to failure.
Can you be pregnant if there is milk leaking out of your breast and how far along could you be?
A leaky breast could be a sign of pregnancy, but it could also be a sign of trouble, possibly even breast cancer. A visit to the doctor would be your best bet.

What not to take while breastfeeding?
Foods such as Junk food like chocolate or candy should be avoided. Any food in the cabbage family can cause your baby to have gas while breast feeding. This includes brocolli and cauliflower. Anything with caffiene as well are not good as it can cause colic or upset stomach for your baby. A general guide for eating while breast feeding is to remind yourself not to eat something that you wouldn't want your new born to eat themselves. You would never let your baby eat a big greasy hamburger, so a breast feeding mother should not eat that either.

When does a woman ovulate after having a baby if she's breastfeeding?
There is simply no way to predict how soon. Every woman is different. If you are breastfeeding without supplementing, that usually suppresses the menstrual cycle altogether. It usually comes back when the baby starts eating solid foods or goes longer between feedings. Usually. Not always.
How can you make sure you continue to produce breast milk?
Schedules DONT WORK.
Feed your baby when it is hungry, not when you feel it should feed, breastmilk works on a supply and demand system.
Every feed, signals the body to make milk, so the longer you space between feedings, the less milk you make.
nurse, nurse, nurse! If you are "supplementing feedings" your supply is going to not be as good as it should be! Make sure to keep up a good breastfeeding or pumping schedule.
How canyou make milk come out your breast with out being pregnant?
Are you certain that the extract is milk? Did you previously have a baby or miscarriage? Are you on birth control? Are your breasts swollen, or enlarged? Do you feel painful lumps or either or? STDs? Bring up specific and brief details to a medical professional and they will assist you.
How much a women produce milk in 24 hour?
That would depend upon how the question is meant.
If it refers to how much milk her mammary glands can produce, then that depends on a variety of factors. Typically, assuming the woman is properly fed and healthy, she will produce enough milk to meet the demand.
It is then the baby that is determing it, or the fact that she may be suckling more than one baby.
On the other hand, the question may refer to how much a milk a woman can produce on a dairy farm, and the answer is that she can produce as much as a man can, with the variables being how many cows and/or goats are producing milk, and what technology is available for the milking of them.
As with all medical questions, a concerned woman should consult with her physician so as to receive a more specifically tailored answer from a qualified professional.
How can you make yourself lactate after menopause?
The correct medical term for male lactation is male galactorrhea.
Lactation requires mainly estrogen, progesterone and prolactin.
Theoretically greatly increasing the levels of those hormones in your body should lead to some degree of lactation. But since you mammalian glands didn't develop in puberty like female ones do, the actual milk production will be very little. There are several medications which are known to cause galactorrhea
as a side effect (f. ex. Tagamet
and Risperidone),
also several foods are supposed to increase lactation (asparagus etc.). Pathologically galactorrhea
frequently occurs in males with pituitary adenoma
(tumor of the pituitary gland). Several observations made by allied doctors after treating the victims of concentration camps in WW2 also lead to the conclusion that the hormonal dysregulation
caused by starving can lead to galactorrhea
in males.
Physiologically, due to a combination of the effects of maternal hormones before birth, prolactin
and growth hormone passed through breast feeding and the postnatal pituitary and thyroid hormone surge in the infant, male galactorrhea
sometimes occurs in male and female newborns.
How often should you nurse your baby or pump breast milk?
Health Canada and Canadian Pediatric Society recommend babies receive only breastmilk up to six months of age and then continue to receive breastmilk with the addition of solid foods up to 2 years of age and beyond.
Most medical authorities promote the recommendation that a mother exclusively breast feed her child for the first six months. After that nursing with other foods should continue at least until the child is one year old. At what point a child should be weaned is solely up to the mother. Worldwide, the average age of weaning is about 3 to 4 years old. In general, the longer a mother nurses her child the better both for the child and her own health. As the old Vulcan saying goes; "Nurse long and prosper".
Stool color for breast feed infant?
The colour can vary. At birth, the baby will pass meconium which is very dark in colour, but as the mother's milk comes in the stool will get lighter and eventually be yellow. If it is green there may be a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance, or the baby may have a virus.
Is decaf coffee safe while breastfeeding?
There are two diffrent processes for decaffinating coffee. One uses water the other chemicals. Be sure to purchase water processed decaff or else you are increasing your exposure to some chamicals. Recent research shows that 2 cups of regular coffee a day can double your risk of miscarriage and your risk still goes up by 42% if you consume less then 200 mg of caffiene a day. So reducing as low as possible is a good idea. A cup of decaff can still have 5mg of caffine, so you need decide where your accepance of risk is.
How is breast milk normally produced?
I breast fed all three of my children. I was more thirsty and drank more water. They say that's helpful. If you are having trouble producing I have heard that a beer a day, or a glass of wine helps. I didn't do this personally, but heard it helps. They say you make what they need. If they eat more you will produce more. (You will notice your breasts hurt and swell during this time) when they start with more solids you will begin to produce less, again the breast swell some because they are being cut back on. They pretty much self maintain. Good luck.
