Laos

Lao Tzu is deified and called 'Taishang Laojun' in Taoism. He is a divine immortal therefore Tiashang Laojun is part of the Taoist pantheon and worshipped amongst other gods.

Laos immigrated to America primarily due to the aftermath of the Vietnam War and the Laotian Civil War, which led to significant political and social upheaval in Laos. Many Laotians, particularly those associated with the U.S. during the war, sought refuge from persecution and violence. Economic challenges and the desire for better opportunities also motivated migration. The U.S. resettled many Laotians as part of humanitarian efforts in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
