Always wash wool by hand in mild soap. Begin with a soak -- three to five minutes for lightly soiled articles, longer for more soil. Squeeze out the soapy water by pressing the article against the bowl after draining out the soapy water. Never wring or scrunch wool to remove water: this agitates the fibres and causes them to shrink.

Rinse twice to remove the soap, taking care to push water through the article, again squeezing out excess water by pushing it against the drained bowl.

Roll the article in towels to remove excess water and air dry on a flat web, after pushing the article back into its basic shape.

Yes, they can be. I know several people that put theirs in the dishwasher. They remain stationary, and have much less chance of getting messed up.

Unfortunately, you can not. Take it from one who has done it and now has a twin sized blanket instead of a full sized one!

Interestingly, I was looking at wool blankets in a catalog just today. One I saw was advertized as having been made 6" larger, just so it could be washed in a washing machine. Drying is not recommended even for these larger-made blankets. I put my washed wool blankets over a large standing clothes dryer that folds.

It isn't necessary. Ringworm is not a particularly tough fungus. Regular washing will kill the spores, although washing in hot water will help (If the clothing can tolerate it), and leaving the clothing to soak for ten to fifteen minutes after the tub initially fills will help as well.

You can, but you would have to use it very sparingly - perhaps 1/2 of normal amount. HE washers work best with HE detergent - conventional detergent sudses much too heavily.

It's called an ironing board.

1. Start by removing as much of the stain as you can by scraping or blotting. Do not rub.
2. If the stain is lipstick or eye-makeup, use a pretreatment. These can be found anywhere you buy detergent, and have directions on the back.
3. After you've completed the pretreatment, or if the stain was caused by foundation, rub the stain with a bit of your liquid detergent. Rinse.
4. Wash the clothing as you normally would.

Its better to wash grape stains in a 60 degree wash,, Hot water alone wont get it out

There are two answers to this.

The appropriate answer, and the lazy answer.

The correct and civil thing to do is to wait about 30-45 minutes if you have a private home washer and dryer, if you are at a public facility, you would need to switch over as soon as possible.

The lazy answer is you can wait to 3-4 hours before they start to smell, but don't leave them in over a day because they will get mildew. In public, you can keep them in as long as you want, but people will steal them if you don't eventually switch them over .

If your blanket is the polyester plush type, that would be easy. I had that problem and tried to browse online to get help, unluckily, nothing worked for me. I tried roll on lint remover, scotch tape, picking by hand..spent hours! with no results, well, I was able to take off like 1/8 of the problem.

Then I thought of something, and it worked like magic! For a throw size blanket,took me 3minutes flat, and the lints were all gone!

Steps to do it:

1. Get a dry medium/soft brush ( i used our vegetable brush 4in x 2in)

2. Lay flat the blanket on the bed or table, (you can also fold them, then work on all sides).

3. Brush off the lints like brushing your hair (one direction).

4. Voila! all the lints are gone! (take off those lints from the brush every now and then).

5. Walk a fine comb through the brush to take all lints when you're done.

Try using a stain remover and leave to act for five minutes. Then put it in your washing machine as usual, with all your regular settings, and when it comes out. They should be gone. :)
