Portuguese is a great language! I have been speaking it since the age of 2! We are very similar to the Italian and the French but personality wise they are closer to the Italian! Like one thing in portuguese would be: Todos devem aprender portugues é a melhor lingua para se aprender! That means: Everyone should learn portuguese it the best language to learn!
The English word 'Portuguese' relates to Portugal. Specifically, the term may refer to the people of Portugal. For example, The Portuguese live in a country that shares borders with just one country: Spain. And the term may refer to the language of Portugal. For example, Almost everyone in Portugal speaks Portuguese.

I'm portuguese and the correct tense is: «Todos devem aprender português pois é a melhor lÃngua para a aprender». Portuguese is closer to the spanish. There is a language in the Northern Spain named galician. That language is very similar to portuguese. Some people say it's the same language. I agree that italian is more closer than french.

EDIT: Actually, there are services available. On Eurolines' website, just select your departure as Lisbon, Portugaland your destination as LONDON (Victoria Coach Station)and then choose the date and the number of passengers. This method is more time-consuming, since it could take up to a 36-hour trip.
It is not possible in practical terms to travel by bus from Lisbon to London as it would involve crossing three international borders plus the English Channel ferry, but it could be done theoretically. It is much easier to travel from London to Lisbon by air.
