The only way to really tell how much food to feed is to measure out the food, and weigh your cat once a week. Using digital scales will do. If the cat's weight starts to increase or decrease, alter the amount of food you are giving accordingly. The easiest way to do this is to give the cat set meals as opposed to leaving a bowl out all day.
