How do you remove nail polish from denim?

A drop of bright red nail polish had already soaked in to my favorite jeans by the time I got to my nail polish remover, so I couldn't scrape it off first as other folks answers indicate is a must. I cleaned it as best I could with regular NAIL POLISH REMOVER (which smeared it and made it lighter, but larger...I also rubbed vs. blotted which would have probably been better). I used a soaked cotton ball with a clean cloth underneath. For the remaining residue I then tried Amazing Cleaner (as recommended by others on other sites) and water with a soft tooth brush, nothing. I then tried plain ACETONE (also recommended by others) with a soft toothbrush and a clean cloth underneath. It helped a bit, but the residue still remained. I then tried Palmolive Oxy dish washing detergent and water with a toothbrush, nothing. I then read about using BUG SPRAY, I used AVON EXPEDITION (other folks have used other brands), and got the remaining residue out. I sprayed it on heavily (on the already wet fabric....it would probably work better without the misguided "wet" treatments between this step and the nail polish remover). Anyway, I wet it thoroughly with the bug spray, scrubbed with a toothbrush over a clean cloth and got it out entirely, although I had to repeat this a couple of times. I also recommend doing this on the back of the denim as I rubbed a bit or a lighter patch over the spot. I am listing the misguided attempts at removal just in case it is in someway beneficial to the chemical process achieved in the end. == == soak them in nail polish remover for 24 hours Here's some help: http://www.jeanshub.com/JeansCare-NailPolishStainRemoval.aspx

At what age can you put nail polish on someone?

I have to say not before her first period (no matter how late). I think girls should be at least sexually mature to understand the meaning of painting their nails, wearing make up, wearing a bra, wear high heel shoes, shaving etc. It doesn't make sense doing beauty treatment beforehand.

The reason WHY you have yellow nails is because when you leave nail polish on for too long it can suffocate your nails and your nails need to breathe. So next time you get your nails done leave a break between the next time. Clear nail polish will make it look a little bit better for now but once you take it off it will look worse than before.

Nail polish remover takes the polish off your nails, doesn't it? It will work on most nail polish stains, whether on clothing or furniture. Apply the nail polish remover to the stain and then lightly blot the stain. Apply detergent and warm water to make sure that you have removed the stain completely and then wash as usual with your detergent. You may have to apply the nail polish remover and blot several times to remove all of the nail polish stain. Do not give up!

How do you make glitter nail polish?

Nail polish is generally an acrylic polymer dissolved in a solvent such as acetone or ethyl acetate along with added pigment to give it color. It's not really something you can whip up in your kitchen using stuff you have lying around, though it wouldn't be a big surprise if there were kits available. If the reason you want to make your own is that you're looking for a very specific shade, buying a white or pearl polish to use as a base and adding your own pigments to make just the color you want seems like it might work.

Can you bring nail polish on an airplane?

As long as it is not in your carry-on, or if it is very small.

<><><>

You may bring liquids, gels, or aerosols in your checked baggage- and in your carryon baggage. In carryon baggage, they must be in a one quart ziplock bag (one bag max per traveler) Individual bottles must be 3 oz or less. HOWEVER- while you are aboard the aircraft- PLEASE do not use nail polish or remover. All of us aboard the plane are sharing a limited amount of air, and we cannot open a window to get the smell out. Don't even open the bottle.

How do you get off glued nails?

Soak your nails in nail polish remover or acetone (more time for non acetone nail polish remover) for about fifteen minutes.
Every now and then rub your nails with your fingers while they are soaking.
After you are done soaking, then get a nail file and gently file the rest of the glue off of your nails.
Then rinse your hands in alcohol to keep them healthy and to avoid cuticle damage.
Then, finally, put on your favorite lotion.

Ta-Da!
