How long is army maternity leave for the husband?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Army policies with respect to pregnancy are general in nature, reflect DoD guidance, and are designed to protect both the rights of women soldiers and the efficacy of the organization. Army regulation states the separation policy for pregnant soldiers is strictly voluntary (unless discovered while in basic training then the separation is involuntary). Once pregnant, Soldiers may choose to remain in the Army or separate. Officers may choose to remain in the Service or request release from active duty, unless they are under obligation to the Army due to education or incentive pay. Soldiers may request ordinary, advance, or excess leave in order to return home or to another appropriate place for the birth, or to receive other maternity care. Leave is at the discretion of the command. T he Army allows a female Soldier to take 6-8 weeks of post partum maternity leave. In addition, the Soldier is not available for deployment for four months following the delivery date for parenthood. The post-partum soldier would also be exempt from taking the Physical Fitness Test for 180 days following the termination of pregnancy.

DO you have to reimburse your employer for compensation paid during maternity leave if you fail to return to work?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Depending on where you live, an employer is obligated to give one 12 weeks of Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) time off; however, whether the employer pays one is up to the individual company. In most cases NOT. Usually one applies for unemployment benefits during the six-twelve weeks off.

Does Texas provide short term disability for Maternity leave?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Texas does not have state coverage for workers.

Individual policies do a maternity leave benefit of six weeks for a vaginal delivery, and eight weeks for a c-section delivery. You are also covered in case of pregnancy complications, and delivery complications that cause you to miss work.

You can get this coverage at work via voluntary employee benefits. You pay the premium through payroll deduction.

What is short term disability Insurance?

User Avatar

Short term disability replaces your income if you become injured or sick and can't work. The benefit period is limited to 3, 6, 12, or 24 months. The policy stops paying benefits if your disability lasts longer than the benefit period.

Is there maternity leave in US?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There are a variety of federal and state family leave laws. At the federal level the FMLA provides 12 weeks of unpaid leave and applies to employers with 50 or more employees. In addition there are ten states with leave laws that supplement the FMLA. There is no requirement for maternity leave pay, except for five states that have mandatory short term disability in place.

When does short term disability kick in for surgery?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It depends upon the elimination period in your policy. The elimination period is the length of time stated in the policy that you must be disabled before benefits begin being paid.

Sometimes the elimination period is shorter for accidents than for illnesses. You would also have to consider the reason for the surgery (was it brought on by an accident or sickness?).

Are you qualified for short term disability while on medical leave?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Answer

There's always unemployment insurance. For CA see the link below.

If the query is in regards to Social Security Disability benefits, all necessary information concerning eligibility and filing (including down loadable forms) can be found on the related link below.

Another thing to consider is, if you are also going to apply for unemployment benefits. Normally, the unemployment service requires you to be willing and able to seek employment. If you have a disability you're seeking insurance for, it indicates you may not be able to seek work and therefore could be rejected for unemployment benefits

Can you collect short tern disability on maternity leave in NY?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

New York has mandated short term disability insurance. It replaces up to 50% of your income, or $170 per week, whichever is less. Your maternity leave will be a covered benefit.

This level of coverage is quite small for most workers in New York City, as their incomes and cost of living are much higher than average. Many women buy supplemental short term disability to get a higher level of maternity leave pay.

Do men get maternity leave?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Hello Friend

Well in Quebec, Canada they believe that a couple that has been living together for over a year are legally considered in the same standing as a married couple. they also have the same benefits as married couples, only when the relationship has problems and they both decide to separate that things get a little messy. in marriage, things are generally written down and both spouses know that they will get out of it in the end. simply living together couples, the courts decide who's right and who's wrong, and yes that is when a lot of money is spent on lawyers and things.

lastly,

Marriage is an institution ordain by God himself for a men and woman to come together, accepting each other as they are and deciding to live together in peace and harmony. And ladies, why would you give yourselves to a man who refuses to take the extra BOLD STEP in fully marring you? don't give in so easly, trust me, most men love a challenge and if their love is TRUE they will do whatever it takes to make you happy.

Enjoy!

Can you be laid off after maternity leave?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It depends. If you notified your employer that you were taking maternity leave - were paid all during your maternity leave - and then laid off when you reported back for work ready to resume your job - you probably can be. The law doesn't guarantee that you will be given a job, only that you may resume your old position. If, while you were on maternity leave, your position was eliminated or the company downsized your former position may have been eliminated. If you can prove that you were laid off SOLELY BECAUSE OF your maternity leave, then you might be able to challenge it. A lot depends on your employment agreement or union contract and your state's labor laws.

Is pregnancy considered a pre-existing condition under Short Term Disability group coverage?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

In my experience as an insurance agent the disability insurance policy I can offer specifically excludes pregnancy. Also, from what I have seen with other policies is that since pregnancy is planned, in most cases, it is not considered a disability. It is similar to being pregnant and not being able to be excepted if you apply for health insurance until after the pregnancy.

This may be true for policies sold direct. However, Short Term Disability policies sold as Voluntary Employee Benefits do provide the coverage you are asking about. * When bought preconception, Short Term Disability provides a six week benefit period for vaginal birth - less the elimination period, and an eight week benefit period for cesarean birth - less the elimination period.

You must buy these programs at work, but since you will be paying for the programs, it is very easy to ask your employer to make the option available.

Can someone collect unemployment when on maternity leave?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If you are on a leave from your employer you are not considered to be unemployed. To be eligible for benefits a person must be unemployed (separated from the employer). They must also be ABLE and AVAILABLE to seek and accept IMMEDIATE full time work. If you are on a medical leave you are still employed, you are probably not able to accept immediate work due to a medical condition, therefore not eligible.

How long is maternity leave in Texas?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There is no paid maternity leave or mandated short term disability in Texas. Your best bet is to apply for short term disability preconception. Short term disability will pay a benefit when you deliver, giving you a paid maternity leave.

Texas doesnt require your employer to pay you but if you are approved for FMLA then if your job aggrees to pay you for either 6 to 8 weeks that is fine. Just talk to your employer and see what they can do for you. My employer gives you paid maternity leave under FMLA if you have been there for a year. Which I have not and it sucks so im trying to get TANF.

Why do husbands leave?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

For the same reason many wives leave their husbands: * Too many stresses at home * Financial difficulties * One or both are cheating * One or both are workaholics * The wife may have let herself go and is no longer appealing to her husband. * The wife may be a nag and over bearing/ * She could be too clingy, shy and doesn't like to socialize. * She could be lazy and keep a poor house and not look after the children properly. * Drugs * Alcohol * The husband may want to recapture his youth and go for a younger woman. * The husband is a total immature jerk and loves women! * The husband may simply fall out of love with his wife and doesn't know why. These are a few reasons, but enough to get the picture. For the same reason women leave men, not happy, wanting something else, something more, immaturity, selfishness, etc. Not all of these reasons and numerous others are present in every departure of ways, it depends on the two people and how they cultivated their relationship and dont forget sometimes there just is no pleasing someone, that is human nature at its shallowest.

Unemployment insurance replaces your income if you lose your job.

Short term disability insurance protects your income if you become disabled, and are physically unable to work.
