Is a twin bed roomy enough for a married couple?

User Avatar
A twin bed is not roomy enough for a married couple because it is made for one person. Although two people can squeeze onto a twin bed, it would become very uncomfortable over time. I would recommend at least a full size bed, but would say a queen or king size would be preferable.

Is it illegal to resale used mattresses in PA?

User Avatar
It's unlawful to sell it and claim that it is a NEW one. PA Dept of Labor & Industry Bedding and Upholstery Law Act249 Speaking directly with the contact at the PA Dept of L&I, clarification was given as individuals may sell such bedding and are not restricted by this Act249 if they originally purchased the items without intent to resell. Selling a mattress you bought, without intending to resell it but may no longer want it or need it, at "yard sale" is legal and not governed by Act249.

How do you clean up a mattress and mattress cover after your pet urinates on it?

User Avatar
Pour white vinegar in your washer & wash the cover as extra heavy. For the mattress, rub a generous amount of baking soda and salt (as salt is an abrasive) roughly into the dampened area. Add a small amount of vinegar ***REMEMBER THIS WILL FOAM A LOT*** and scrub more. This will take a lot of elbow grease. Rinse. Always make sure the mattress is completely dry before you put the sheets back on. Alternatively, use an upholstery cleaner on the mattress after the vinegar mix. To avoid this in the future, invest in a non-permeable cover for your mattress so that any future incidents will be easier to take care of. Unfortunately, animals will often repeat the act.

What bed size is bigger than super king?

User Avatar
a California king. A Standard King is about 4" wider and a California King is 4" longer. Two people sleeping in a King size bed will get the same amount of personal sleeping space as in a Twin bed. In fact, if you pushed two Extra-Long Twin beds together they'd be about the same size as an Eastern King. For great versatility in a guest room, if you have the floor space, use 2 extra long twin beds separately for singles or push them together to make a king bed for couples. When buying sheets, you have to be careful to purchase the right size. Flat sheets will fit both sizes of King beds, but fitted sheets are cut to fit one or the other. Before you go shopping for sheets, be sure to measure your bed exactly to be sure to buy the linens that will fit exactly. Standard King or Eastern King beds are about 16" wider than a Queen bed and the same length. A King size bed is sold with two box springs or frames and one mattress. This makes it easier to move. Overall dimensions: 76" wide x 80" long Width per person: 38" Pros: As the widest bed commonly available in stores, the Standard King is the most comfortable for two adults. The 80" length is sufficient for most people. Sheets labeled "King Size" fit a Standard King bed. Cons: Because of its size, a King bed may not be practical for a single person who has to do the moving by himself. They're hard to get upstairs, through narrow, winding hallways, and small rooms. A King bed may not be long enough for very tall people. Bedding is most expensive in the King sizes. The wide bed requires at least 3 standard or 2 queen or king pillows, adding to the cost. California King or Western King beds are 12" wider than a Queen and 4" longer. This is the longest bed commonly available in stores and is the best choice for tall people. Like the Eastern King, the California King bed set comes with one mattress and two half-width box springs to be more manageable when moving. Very tall single people can sleep from corner to corner and still be comfortable. Overall dimensions: 72" wide x 84" long Width per person: 36" Pros: A California King size mattress is wide enough for two to sleep comfortably and is the longest bed commonly available. Its extra length is good for tall people. Cons: This very large mattress may be cumbersome to move and may not fit up stairs, through narrow hallways, or in small bedrooms. Like the Eastern King, the California King bed set comes with one mattress and two half-width box springs to be more manageable when moving. Very tall single people can sleep from corner to corner and still be comfortable

How do you assemble a combination futon bunk bed?

User Avatar
Step 1 Take two futon sets, preferably two that are exactly the same. Measure length, width and thickness of each wooden piece that makes up the headboard and footboard, especially the width and thickness of the posts. Step 2 Construct your own bunk bed headboards and footboards using your own lumber. The posts shouldn't be more than seven feet high but should probably be wider and thicker than the originals--possibly up to twice as thick. Step 3 Drill holes in the headboards and footboards large enough for the bolts that came with the futon frames. Step 4 Attach the frames to the headboards and footboards using nuts and bolts. If the posts you used are thicker than the original futon posts, you may need bolts longer than the original ones--but they should be the same width. Step 5 Make sure the futon frames are securely attached to the headboards and footboards. See that the bolts are tightly fastened and the frame won't jiggle at all. This is especially true of the top bunk. Step 6 Build a ladder for access to the top bunk. It may be best to affix this ladder to the headboard or footboard to keep it in place. (Since the frame is likely metal, attaching it there isn't likely.)

How much does 1 cup of water weigh?

User Avatar
The density of water at 4 °C is 1 gram per milliliter (1 g/mL). There are 236.588 mL in one cup. So 1 cup of pure water weighs about 236.588 g (about 8.3454 ounces, avoirdupois) This is true at 4°C (39.2 °F) where water is the densest (1000 kg/m3, and is pretty close at most other temperatures above freezing and below the boiling point of water. Water at room temperature is 998.2 kg/m3.

How much does it cost to move a bed and a couch from Georgia to California?

User Avatar
I sent a headboard/footboard/mattress/boxspring from Arizona to Texas for almost $400 by freight. I had to box it all myself. I also have rented a truck to move a couch the same distance, and with the premium paid for one-way, it cost nearly $1000 for the truck. You may want to consider what the replacement cost would be rather than shipping these items.

Can you bend a king mattress?

User Avatar
It depends on how much you intend to bend the mattress and the type of mattress. Many modern mattress manufacturers offer king- and (less commonly) queen-sized mattresses with hinges in their frames to allow them to be temporarily bent to, say be moved to the second story of a home through a tight stairwell. With smaller mattress sizes, you really should not bend the mattress beyond 10 or 15 degress (and even that is stretching it for some brands).

How do you clean hot chocolate that has set on a mattress and is moldly?

User Avatar
A steam cleaner (make sure it gets hot enough to sanitize) will kill off the mold and whatever else is there, then you just use a cleaner like Oxyclean spray to get out the stain.

What is the best mattress for scoliosis?

User Avatar
I would vote for a memory foam so that your mattress can take the shape of your spine and make you comfortable especially vs a spring formed mattress If you have pain then a memory foam mattress or topper would help. Simmons classic mattress is an excellent mattress and gives you more comfort.

How do you exterminate bedbugs?

User Avatar
There is not one specific way of getting rid of bed bugs. Bombs and bug foggers will not work. There are other successful methods you can use: 1.Vacuum rugs, bedding and bed frames thoroughly and once done, remove bag and replace vacuum bag and repeat. It the infestation is very bad, you may want to consider discarding the mattress all together. 2. Remove all bedding, drapes or curtains and wash on the hottest temperature and dry in dryer. During hot day, you can put bedding in a plastic bag and leave out for a few days. Bed bug dry up in temperatures of 120F degrees. 3 .There is a process called thermacure, that will rid your home of bed bugs. You must hire a profession company who specialized in the treatment. The home is threaded with ducts and extremely hot air is pumped into your home, about 112 F, which will kill the insects. 4. Steam clean anything and everywhere parasites tend to hide. This will kill both adult bugs and their eggs. 5. Sprinkle diatomaceous dirt in areas where bug tend to hide. This will kill bugs with its microscopically sharp edges as they walk across. 6. Sprays, there are a lot of bed bug spays on the market, such as PureClean, Sleep Tight, Bug Patrol. Find a product that is the most effective and the safest to use. Types of Spays Some product in sprays contain pyrethians, which attack the nervous system of the insect and kill it. Other products to choose from, contain oil of clove or winter green others alcohol and some enzymes. Enzymes kill on contact, are non-toxic to humans and pets and does not irritate when it come in contact with skin. Where to Spray What ever you decide to use, remember to treat the head board, bed frames, the base boards around the bed and any furniture in the room . Concentrate under tables and cracks and at leg joints. http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Exterminate-Bed-Bugs Note from Supervisor Keats: Please do not revert back to this answer. Where can you donate a used mattress in Nashville TN?

User Avatar
Try Goodwill. I think they have a truck outside of Lowe's on Charlotte by Westmeade Elem. and another at Hillsboro High by the baseball field. It's possible that Goodwill will not accept used mattresses and it might be better to take it to the dump or place a free ad on Craigslist. The mattress should be free of stains, cat hair and should not have deep dips.

What are the dimesions of a twin-size quilt?

User Avatar
A twin mattress (in the US) is 39" X 75". How big you make your quilt depends on how much you want to hang down on both sides and at the end, and whether you will be going up over pillows at the head of the bed. Most twin comforters (minimal overhang) is 65" X 88" and bedspreads (large overhang) is 81" X 107". If you want something in between, go with 70"x 90". A standard commercial twin-sized quilt is 90" x 60".

Will a trundle frame fit under any regular bed?

User Avatar
A trundle will not always work with a regular bed. This is due to the fact that the bed frames usually have recessed legs that will not allow the trundle to properly roll under the bed. However, if you have a twin or full size head and footboard that has the appropriate clearance, it may be possible to roll the trundle under. www.thesleepshop.com

What is a Bariatric mattress?

User Avatar
A Bariatric mattress is an extra heavy duty one built to accomodate the weight of extremely obese people. It is engineered to take the greater weight without compressing as much and to absorb the perspiration of such people. Bariatric mattresses are also often used for less obese people who are bedridden to reduce the incidence of bed sores.
