Third: The Altrom brand at NAPA auto parts stores are parts from the same companies that make parts that are put into new Mazdas at the factory. The parts boxes may have brands on them you haven't heard of because these companies (like 555, YEC, Bando) don't advertise to the public. Beck/Arnley is similar.

Fourth: Salvage/junk yards: Most of the parts here were what originally came on the cars from the factory, so they are genuine Mazda parts.

Underneath the truck,on the driver's side rail, about halfway between the front and back of the truck. It requires a special tool for removal that you can buy at the auto parts store.

Your engine is misfiring, meaning one or more cylinders are loosing spark, fuel, or there is a mechanical problem. A flashing MIL light will always indicate a misfire. A scan tool check may reveal freeze frame data to help correct the issue.

You will need to connect the tach to a ground and +12v source, the signal wire will have to be connected to the ground on the coil. Since the truck is fuel injected, you will likely have to find a way to wire it in with the connector on the coil.

It should be inside the housing where the top radiator hose connects to the engine.

The humming is caused by a " idol control valve" on top of the motor. It controls the amount of air going to the motor, and when it gets dirty or broken the humming starts. You can take it off and clean it out, (with brake cleaner) but my truck had 200,000 miles on it so I got a new one. It's only 2 bolts, easy to get to, the part is about 26 bucks most places.

The Mazda3 is offered in two versions- 'i' and 's'. The 'i' is offered in Sport, Touring and Grand Touring trim levels. The 's' is only available in the top-level Grand Touring trim level as of the 2013 model year. The 'i' Sport is only available as a 4-door sedan, all other trim levels are available as a 4-door sedan or 5-door hatchback.

The 'i' models feature Mazda's highly-efficient 2.0L 155hp "SkyActiv" 4-cylinder engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The 'i' has a 40mpg Highway fuel economy rating.

The 's' has a slightly more powerful 167hp 2.5L 4-cylinder with a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. This engine is much less efficient, rated at only 29mpg Highway. This engine is an older design and does not feature Mazda's new "SkyActiv" technology. Despite the slight increase in power, the difference is negligible under normal driving conditions.

A redesigned 2014 Mazda3 is expected to be released before the end of 2013. All models will feature the latest fuel-economy technology.
