methadone builds up in your system lortab is hydracodone and a muscle relaxer that doesn't build up in your system your tolerance just builds up to it. The longer you take methadone even at low doses it will be way worse. In my opinion long term methadone use is the longest lasting withdrawal and the worse over all.

The day you stop taking oc is the day the withdraws begin and you shouldn't be without medical attention during your time without oc you very well can not wake up or have seizures the minor symptoms will be cold sweats every flu symptom and bone aches... 300mgs a day is quite a lot. Go see a doctor who will get you on the path to sobriety, i myself am on a suboxone regiment and i feel great and am almost of the suboxone.. Go find help.

If you take over 20mgs for 10 ten days you will have a problem, and most clinics start you at 30 and let you go up 10mgs per day for 10 days, don't do it if you must stay on it keep your dose low, very addictive, good luck

Yes, both drugs could be taken together. However, both drugs are opiates and act the same way in the body. All you'll get is more side effects without a huge amelioration in your pain control. Talk to your physician about augmenting your dosage for only 1 agent and switching to another if you need more effect or if you had accumulated too much metabolites.

Yes. However, Methadone is usually harder to treat than Heroin. I've heard of many people who came off of 100 Mgs with Ibogaine. One such man is Dmitri Mugainis (Not sure is last name is spelled right). He was also doing Heroin and Coke at the time. Clinics will probably want you to stay longer as they might want to give you booster doses over the course of your stay in order to help your experience be as painless as possible and to address any residual withdrawal you may encounter.

I live in Phoenix and am a patient at Intensive Treatment Centers on Thomas Dr. There are two more here in Phoenix that are affiliated to it. These three clinics are non profit but I do know there is a few here that are for profit. I would say there are at least 10 to 15 methodone clinics here in Phoenix.

Take the xanax away... I take it she is coming off heroin or an opiate since she is on methadone. When you take a benzo with methadone it creates a heroin like effect, and can cause black outs. I personally would not recommend methadone, Suboxone is the better option or Subutex.But be aware that Subutex and Suboxone will give you INSTANt withdraw symptoms,a hardhitting cold turkey, if your not completely out of the Methadone.

There was a study done that eating grapefruit will increase the plasma levels of methadone over time. So grapefruit is one food item you should not eat when taking methadone on a daily basis..

no it is a barbiturate and contains caffeine, acetaminophen, and butabital. There is also a kind that contains codeine. Personally I like the ones without codeine better.

Morphine is an Opiod Analgesic designed to relieve severe to moderate pain in patients and is a controlled substance.

Naloxone (or NarCan) is an Opiod Antagonist and is designed to reverse the effects of an overdose in opiates (i.e. Morphine). Most opiates have a longer half life (stay in your system longer) than Naloxone so administration may need to be repeated several times and the patient monitored for respiratory distress and o2 saturation as opiate overdoses can cause various dangerous symptoms which require supportive treatment alongside the Naloxone.

Do not do this unless your doctor tell you so. Methadone is much more potent than most people think. The half-life of methadone is anywhere from 8-24 hours or more. Adding another opiate to it as strong as morphine is asking for trouble.

When a person takes a chemical like morphine frequently enough (either as prescribed by a doctor, or illegally), many cells of the body will make adjustments for the continued presence of this chemical.

Often, these adjustments will require the person to take MORE of the chemical, to get the same effect as earlier. This is called TOLERANCE.

Some people can develop an incredible tolerance, to the point where a single dose for them, would hurt a chemically-naive person.

Now, with many cells in the body changing their function to accommodate a chemical, if that chemical is suddenly removed, or if a person cannot dose, they will experience withdrawal symptoms. These are basically caused by the body's change in function to balance the chemical. When that chemical isn't there, then the body is unbalanced. It could take days to weeks for the body to regain a proper balance again. Until this balance occurs again, the person will feel horrible.

Ideally, in a medical setting, a doctor will gradually reduce a person's dose of a chemical over several weeks. This is called TAPERING, and it allows the body to gradually readjust to normal.

With regards to morphine (or other opiate), the presence of morphine will cause cells that normally produce endorphins (the body's natural opiates) to reduce or stop production altogether. Likewise, cells that have receptors for endorphins will down-regulate (have fewer receptors) to help balance the effects of morphine. This leads to tolerance & addiction.

Also, other chemicals can be substituted for the one to which a person is addicted. In the case of morphine addiction, methadone (another opiate) can be used. This can be tapered with the goal of having the person be free of addiction.

This can happen not only with opiates like morphine, heroin and oxycodone, but alcohol, benzodiazepines (valium), barbiturate, etc....
