Dekameter, one dekameter is equal to 100 meters.

Deca is the prefix for 10, one decametre is ten metres, one decalitre is ten litres. Having lived for over forty years in a metric country I have never seen it used in real life. Similarly deci for a tenth, and hecto for one hundred are never used. Centi for one hundredth is only used for centimetres, except for some wine bottles which use centilitres.

How meany meters are in 6 foot 1 inch?

1.8542 m ;

1 foot = 30.48 cm, and 1 inch = 2.54 cm {these are good ones to have memorized}

So: 6 x (30.48 cm) + 1 x (2.54 cm) = 182.88 cm + 2.54 cm = 185.42 cm, then divide by 100 (cm/m) to get meters: 1.8542 m

Or the other way would be to convert 6'1" to 73 inches, then (73 in) x (2.54 cm/in) = 185.42 cm

Of course top answer is good too.1.825 without a calculator. It would be 6 1/12 / 3.2808399 which I actually cheated and used a calculator is 1.85. Also 1 in = 2.54 cm, 1 ft = 12 in, 1 m = 100cm. Easier to figure out that way. 2.54 x 12 x 6 + 2.54 = 185 ish / 100 = 1.85 rounded. My initial calculation without a calculator was with 2.5 instead of 2.54.
