Michael Jordan attended Trask Middle School in Wilmington, N.C. His family moved to North Carolina from Brooklyn, N.Y. when Jordan was very young. He later attended the University of North Carolina, where he developed his superior basketball skills.

However, in 1984, Jordan left North Carolina one year before scheduled graduation to enter the 1984 NBA Draft. Jordan returned to North Carolina to complete his degree in 1986.
