Usually, the scout will give you his/her business card and/or arrange to speak with you (and your parents if you are under 18) at a certain date and time.

Unless you're working with a company you don't need paperwork to be a site model. All you need to do is take modeling photos and connect with someone that creates layouts and pages. Myspace is famous for this. Do a search for site models on Myspace and contact the person and ask if you can become a site model for them.

A casting agency is one that works as the middleman between clients and modeling agencies. Casting agencies also host a database of available talent (modeling, acting, singing, voiceover, etc) and notifies them of upcoming castings. Oftentimes clients in need of talent will contact casting agencies in order to find agency represented talent or freelance talent instead of searching for talent from agency to agency.

It is important to note that casting agencies are not modeling or talent agencies, offer no contracts and do not take/charge commission.

There are two types of casting calls: for modeling jobs and for modeling agencies.

Clients that need models will hold casting calls, where they will invite models that fit their requirements and have them appear in person so that the client can see who would be the best fit for the job. The models typically submit a headshot and/or bring their portfolio so that the client can see their work experience. From there, the client will choose the model(s) that will be officially hired and paid for the job.

Casting calls for modeling agencies are specific days and times during the week that anyone can come into the agency's office to be evaluated by the staff without the need for an appointment. These castings are free and help agencies discover new faces. They will then contact those they want to sign at a later day and time with their interest in representing them.

According to industry standards, models 5'8" and taller should weigh between 100 lbs to 125 lbs maximum. So being 140 pounds would make it extremely difficult to be signed as a fashion/runway model. However, measurements are a more important factor.

Traditional fashion and runway models are 34-24-34 (bust, waist and hips in inches) or smaller. If your measurements are larger and depending on what dress size you wear, you might be eligible for plus size modeling, which is for models 5'8"-6'0" that are between sizes 12-18 (size 10 isn't as common but is sometimes used).

It depends on what requirements you meet and what field of modeling you would be suitable for. Models in general are required to be naturally beautiful/attractive, have good skin, great hair and teeth, slim build and photogenic. Height will be one of the main determining factors of whether you are model material or not. 5'5'-5'7" is for commercial/print, while 5'8"-6'0" is for fashion/runway/editorial modeling for female models.

If you are model material an agency will be able to tell from simple digital snapshots. To find out you should attend open casting calls at various agencies where you live whose requirements you meet.

The runway walk is a Westernized term, while ramp walk is mostly used in India and some parts of Europe. They are basically the same thing but the way the models walk differs sometimes. The only document you'll have to deal with when modeling in other countries is a typical work visa. People will charge a lot of money for this so-called "license" when it is not necessary nor required. Anyone that approaches you about this should be avoided. Agency represented models will have their agents take care of all the travel oriented documents for the most part.
