Monty Python

Monty Python (sometimes known as The Pythons) was a British surreal comedy group who created their influential Monty Python's Flying Circus, a British television comedy sketch show that first aired on the BBC on 5 October 1969. Forty-five episodes were made over four series. The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into something larger in scope and impact, spawning touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books and a stage musical as well as launching the members to individual stardom. The group's influence on comedy has been compared to The Beatles' influence on music.

"Calm down", the operator says, "I can help you. But first, we need to make sure he's dead." The phone goes silent, for a second. Then the operator hears a gunshot.

Does the pope have the holy hand grenade of Antioch?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No, The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch was a sacred relic carried by Cistercian monk Brother Maynard, priest to King Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon, from the castle of Camelot, King of the Britons, defeater of the Saxons, Sovereign of all England.

The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch was destroyed in 1974 when King Arthur used it to destroy a killer rabbit that was blocking the path of him and his hapless Knights Errant.

The The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch was originally manufactured in Antioch in 1274 for St Atilla the Killer. Its exact specifications are unclear, since the one and only remaining example was lobbed properly in1974.

What was the holy grail?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

According to my knowledge, the holy grail was the cup used in the last meal Jesus had with his apostles.

According to some sources, the cup that Jesus drank from at the last supper was known as the holy grail.According to other sources, the holy grail was the cup that was used to catch the blood from the wound inflicted by the centurian Longinus on Jesus as he hung upon the cross.Joseph of Arimathea is said to have arrived in Kinlochard SCOTLAND (FK8 3TW) in the first century A.D He is said to have brought the holy grail with him together with two bottles containing the blod and the sweat of Jesus. The grail was handed down from generation to generation and then became the center of a quest that was central to the Arthurian saga.Galahad eventually finding it.However, the basis of the idea of a quest for some kind of vessel appears to have come from Celtic traditions. It may be connected with the journey to the otherworld to find a magic cauldron.

let me correct you,......the holy grail was not the "cup of Christ". it was Mary Magdalene herself....though the legend tell us that the Holy Grail is a chalice - a cup. but the Grail's description as chalice is actually an allegory to hide the true nature of Grail. the legend used it as a metaphor for a woman ! and this woman carried a secret so powerful that if revealed, it could devastate the very foundation of Christianity..! you can see this proof in the painting The Last Supper. the figure to Jesus' immediate right you can see a delicate body with folded hands and flowing red hair is Mary Magdalene herself.

Who is monty modlin?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Monty Modlin was a cockney-Jewish journalist who used to present slots on London Weekend Television's evening news programmes in the Seventies. He used to cover things like 'disappearing London' or interview people with unusual occupations, like Pearly Kings. He had this growly cockney accent and used to sing a theme tune which went ' Pardon my cheek, and the way that I speak but no matter where I go, from common or gentry, I'll talk elementary, in the only way I know.'

Couldn't tell you if he's still with us, though.
