Who buys outfits for Morman tabernacle choir?

The outfits worn by members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir during performances are owned by the choir (not the individuals) and purchased through funds the choir raises through sales of albums and concert tickets. The women's dresses are generally custom made although the men's suits are usually purchased. I am not aware of whose responsiblity it is to design, choose, or purchase the outfits.

When a Mormon male 15 is asked if he believes in love at first sight and responds with do you believe all is fair in love and war what does he mean?

This boy's religion has nothing to do with his answer. The fact is, he is a 15 year old boy, and most teenage boys arent thinking about love. He probably didn't really know how to answer because he hasn't thought of love at first sight, and that was the first thing he came up with.

However, because he is a Mormon, he probably will not date until he is 16, and may not be okay with having a serious girlfriend until he is 18 or even 20 (when he comes home from his mission). So even if he does like you, he probably won't do anything about it.

How many people are there that aren't Mormon in Utah?

As of 2021, it is estimated that around 62% of the population in Utah is affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). This means that approximately 38% of the population in Utah consists of people who are not Mormon. However, it's important to note that these figures are estimates and may vary.

How much does it cost to go to BYU?

What beliefs did the Mormons have that threatened the people in Illinois?

The biggest concern about the Mormons for the people of Illinois was their belief in gathering. The Mormons all wanted to live in the same area and establish laws based on the laws in the Bible. The other citizens in Illionois felt threatened that they might become outnumbered by Mormons, and that the Mormons might be able to influence local politics.

What are the leadership structures in mormonisms?

Every organization (with one exception) within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church), from the local to the international level, is lead by a President and two Counselors. Beneath the president and two counselors will be assistants (such as secretaries or clerks) and teachers, if needed.

* within this organization, there are three age groups (Beehives, Mia Maids, and Laurels) each having their own teenage president and counselors

-Young Men's President, two counselors (+secretaries & teachers) = lead teen boys organization

* within this organization there are three age groups (Deacons, Teachers, and Priests) each having their own teenage president and counselors

-Sunday School President, two counselors (+secretaries & teachers) = lead adult and teen Sunday School

-Primary President, two counselors (+secretaries & teachers) = lead children's Sunday School

Local (Stake) Level: (a group of 5-12 local congregations is a 'Stake')

The eight Seventies Quorums are overseen by the Seven Presidents of the Seventy - the only exception to the 'President+counselors model)

International Level: (each area combines to form the international church, where the leadership is organized similar to the congregational and stake levels)

-President, two counselors = top leadership of the entire church. The president is considered a to be Prophet

Missions: Missions are a seperate arm of the church, not combined with the stakes or congregations, but overseen by the Seventies and the Twelve Apostles. Each Mission has a President (who serves with his wife) chosen by the President of the Church, two counselors from the local area, and assistants chosen from the body of traveling proselyting missionaries. The missionaries are further divided into larger geographical groups (zones) which consist of smaller groups (districts). Each mission zone and district is lead by two or more missionaries.

Temples: Temples are also a seperate arm of the church which are overseen by the Seventies and Twelve Apostles. Each Temple is lead by a President and two counselors (plus their wives, who are called "matrons") chosen by the President of the church and are assisted by local workers who are referred from the stakes.

What happens when you die in the Mormons religion?

Depending on your worldly adherence to the laws and ordinances of the gospel and if you have repented of your sins.

You will end up in either Spirit Prison or Spirit Paradise, while there you can either be a teacher to those in prison, helping them to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ, or start paying for your sins while you await resurrection.

All people that were born on earth will be resurrected after the second coming of christ, Those who were righteous and repented their sins will be resurrected first and others will be resurrected later after the millenium.

There will be the Millenium When Christ will rule upon the earth for a thousand years and Satan will be bound. After that thousand years Satan will be loosed and have an opportunity to tempt those that were born during the thousand years.

The Judgement will take place and all mankind will take their places in either the 3 Kingdoms of Heaven (Celestial, Telestial or Terrestrial) depending on their righteousness and acceptance of the gospel of Jesus Christ, those who still refuse to accept christ as their savior or rejected the truth once it was given them on earth will dwell in outer darkness.

How many weddings are conducted in the Mormon tabernacle?

None. The Mormon Tabernacle is home to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It is used for concerts, recitals, conferences, and special sermons, but is not available for weddings or regular worship services.

Perhaps you are thinking of the Mormon Temple? There are 135 Mormon temples worldwide, the most famous being next to the Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. The number of weddings in the Salt Lake Temple varies by day, but the Temple can handle about 120 weddings in one day. On a typical Saturday it is not unusual for the Temple to host 50 weddings or more, with weekdays being less crowded with about 5-10 weddings. On some occassions, it has been booked completely (such as on July 7, 2007). The other 134 Temples have different capacities and are not as busy. For example, the Mount Timpanogos Temple in Utah can handle about 60 weddings in a day, but rarely reaches that number.

Is America the promised and holy land for Mormons?

In our history, our Promised land has changed from one place to another. There was a point in time when Judaism and Mormonism were one religion, and the Promised land was in the Middle East, more specifically Israel. But eventually, as the Jews began to sin, a particular righteous family, who also was the prophet's family, received revelation that there was a new Promised land overseas. This was America.

It is kind of ideal to think that as well. I mean, in a way, America is geographically isolated. The South is very hot, and the North is very cold. Both East and West are protected by water. Because of these geographical advantages, the U.S. has managed to become a major country very hard to attack.

Was Lucky Dube a Mormon?

Unaware of any individual, Mormon or otherwise, with that name.

How many church services are there in a day?

Around 1980, the church implemented a consolidated 3 hour bloc program for their standard meetings on Sunday. The main service is called Sacrament Meeting, lasting a little over an hour. It is the meeting in which the emblems of the Sacrament are given to the members, and prayers and talks are generally provided by the members as well. Other meetings included in the 3 hour bloc (after Sacrament Meeting) are Sunday School, Primary, Young Women, Priesthood, and Relief Society. The consolidated schedule makes it possible to have multiple congregations meet in the same building, and saves on energy costs among other efficiencies.

How does Heavenly Father answer sincere prayers?

In whatever way He sees fit. We do not know the mind of God or what is truly best for us, but He does. Sometimes He'll answer with what we desire. Sometimes He'll answer through others providing service. Other times you'll feel a small nudge (spiritually or emotionally) towards the answer. Sometimes the answer is not answering the prayer because it is better for us then having the prayer answered.

Why are the articles of faith so important?

In my opinion, one reason the Articles of Faith are important is because they are helpful if someone spontaneously asks you what Mormons believe. Nearly all of them begin with the words "We believe." Latter Day Saint (Mormon) kids are supposed to memorize them.

What percent of Dixie State College are Mormons?

Since Dixie State is a public college, they are not allowed to require their students to disclose their religion. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) does not keep records on which schools members are attending, so it is impossible to know for sure how many students at Dixie State are Mormon. (also, the number fluxuates every semester) However, Dixie is in a predominantly Mormon area, and I would assume that about 50-70% of students are baptized Mormons, although many may not be practicing the faith.

Do Mormons own the Cracker Barrel?

No. Cracker Barrel is a publically traded stock market company and is therefore owned by individual share holders. Some of the share holders might be Mormon, though.

Cracker Barrel was founded by Dan Evins in Tennesee. He is not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) either.

The Church itself has never had any relationship with Cracker Barrel.

Is Coca-Cola owned by Mormons?

No. Pepsi is a massive corporation (they own Pizza Hut, for example) and there may be some members of that and other churches on the board of directors, but the corporation is independently owned and operated.

Are Mormons advised not to drink carbonated beverages?

Yes, if they want to. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the 'Mormon' church) does not prohibit consumption of soda drinks.

Mormons do follow a health code which prohibits 'strong drinks' (alcohol) and 'hot drinks' (coffee and tea) as well as tobacco and illegal drugs. Some Mormons do choose to avoid caffeinated sodas, and a few even avoid soda drinks altogether, but this is purely a personal choice based on the fact that they are unhealthy, it is not a requirement of their church. Many Mormons are focused on staying healthy, as they believe their bodies are sacred gifts from God and should be cared for.

You can check out the "Related Links" below to learn more about Mormons and their health code.

(The Word of Wisdom is the Mormon health code. You can learn more about it at the "Related Links" below.)

What meat do Mormons eat at Christmas?
