Will adderall help reverse the symptoms of an overdose of morphine sulphate er?
It would not be the drug of choice for an opiate overdose, however as it is a CNS stimulate it will reduce the most life threatening effect of an opiate overdose -- most notably the depressed breathing.
That being said, the main method of administration (oral) would not be fast enough to counter acute overdose (approx 30 minutes to see effects). As breathing as already compromised and in the most life threatening situations the subject will lose consciousness, other means of administrating are also unacceptable (snorting).
It would in fact be much quicker to call an ambulance, as they routinely carry naloxone, an injectable medication that tightly binds to the opiate receptors w/o activating them.

How bad are the withdrawal symptoms from a morphine pain pump?
I have a dilaudid pump - not a morphine pump and developed serotonin syndrome from the multiple meds my various doctors put me on without discussing them with each other. They drained my pump over 2 weeks, the last drain being a week ago tomorrow. I am in full withdrawal that the doctors at first dismissed as "flu"... cold sweats, panic attacks, fever, chills, hot flashes, body aches.... the worst ever! I wasn't given anything to counteract the loss of medications because I'd been vomiting everything up for weeks. No one took control of the situation. Make very sure that you are weaned off of your pain pump carefully by someone who realizes you just can't cold turkey off 2 years of pain pump use!
I take lorazepam and oxycodone IR by mouth at least 4 times a day but as soon as they wear off it's right back again. I've had to go in for IV fluids to get rehydrated. Pain pump withdrawal can be very dangerous if not done correctly. Be careful!

Can a terminally ill 73 year old woman take dilaludid morphine and the 100 fentyl patch?
If terminally ill, then the long term side effects no longer become an issue, as the person is "Terminally" ill, dosage would have to be carefully adjusted as these drugs effect the elderly differently. In cases of terminal illness the goal is to ensure the patient is as comfortable and pain free as possible, so alot of prescribing issues become irrellevant, issues such as dependancy and addiction.
I'm not terminaly ill but I have to take Oramorph, Fentayl patches 200 ug, Severedol and MXL in an attempt to control constant pain from chronic pancreatitis, I'm 33.

Was morphine common in the 1960s?
While morphine was being used illicitly at the time, and although there was a successful black market for morphine, heroin was much more popular and was considered a larger threat.
the DEA knew of one smuggling ring that moved 200lbs of morphine into the U.S. every week back in 1968.
Morphine was used as a general anesthetic on battlefields during the Vietnam War and there is evidence that addiction to morphine was most popular with veterans returning home.
We frequently titrate the dose of morphine a patient is receiving based on their complaints or appearance of discomfort. It is acceptable to increase morphine for pain, anxiety or respiratory distress but I would be hesitant to increase it at the request of patient or family to "speed up the dying process".
Will codeine be detected as morphine in a blood drug screen test?
It depends on the type and sensitivity of the test. Basic test will test for opiates, which will come back positive by using for morphine, codeine or heroin. The basic test will not differentiate between the three it will simply be positive for "opiates."
Codeine and Heroin for that matter are prodrugs meaning they have little or no pharmacological actions alone instead, they are broken down into morphine which is what actually provides the analgesia. More advanced tests can differentiate morphine and codeine because there will still be some codeine molecules and there will be morphine. If morphine were used then only morphine would show and Heroin has two other active metabolites 6-MAM and 3-MAM and if those metabolites are present it would mean heroin was used. Also note that Heroin is NOT an opiate, it only shows up because it turns into morphine which, along with codeine, is an opiate.
Also blood tests are the most accurate however they are the most expensive and they can only detect a drug for a few hours.
whats your ? ya we had the morphine tubes, if the wound you recived was bad, then you gave your self a shot of morphine,
