How long should you wait to take a .50mg xanax after taking a 60mg morphine er?
you shouldn't...quite simply. .5mg of xanax is a small dose however benzos and opiates enhance each other and cause risk of respiratory depression (meaning you could stop breathing). the risk is certainly low in your case, however you should not be ignorant to it.
What types of drugs are included morphine deressant?
.. morphine is an opiate pain killer. it is a central nervous system depressant..
A time released morphine capsure will be released over a long period of time. This means it would be about the same as taking 1 mg every 45 minutes or so over a day(rough estimate). If you need a drug as strong as morphine to control your pain, time release would be a good option as you can have long lasting pain control without sufferering as much from side effects (dizziness, nausea) that you would get from taking a large dose of MS IR.
Morphine is Amphoteic ie.,it has (approximately) equal share of acidity and basicity.
The Phenolic moiety of ring A showers acidic natire and the tertiary Nitrogen containing a lone pair of electrons showers the basicity to the compound.
The Pka is about 8 .Some authors sat its a weak base but most prominantly it can be looked upon as an Amphoteric substance.

What if morphine tablets are taken over dose?
If anything is taken in overdose, the first thing to do is call an ambulance/take the patient to the nearest A&E.
Overdoses of opiates (which includes morphine) can cause respiratory arrest - this is where the connection between your brain and your lungs fails to tell your lungs to breath. The worst case is you can die of lack of oxygen (I'm not sure whether this would technically be called "suffocation" or "asphyxiation"). There is also a possibility of surviving with some brain damage caused by lack of oxygen.
Why stop giving morphine to a dying man?
Morphine could very well nauseate the dying man, which means that vomiting in his condition would be very uncomfortable, as well as non-productive. Morphine is not the drug of choice of many physicians in recent years. Not only is it often not as effective as more recent drugs, but can be halucinatory, confusing, and upsetting to the stomach
Too much of ANYTHING can be poisonous, even water (see water intoxication).
If someone takes too much morphine they will stop breathing. If no one helps them with a reversal drug (naloxone) or ventilates them (rescue breathing) they can die.
What happens when you take morphine with an anti emetic?
Taking these two drugs in combination would relieve or possibly prevent nausea/vomiting that some people associate with taking opiates.
What is safe daily dose of morphine Ir?
morphine requirement will increase with regular use and safe dose will depend on weight and general health a safe daily dose is nil.

Does morphine cause brain damage?
It's not going to make you "Special" but it can cause damage to pain receptors. Their are few long term side effects from using morphine especially if used by a Physician. Your doctor will know the proper amount for the best results with the least amount of side effects that is best for you.
Will herion and moriphine show up in urine the same drug?
Yes both are opium derives.... They will show up as Opiates.
The term "freebasing" is a misnomer as it refers to the composition of the drug. It does not mean "to smoke" the drug per se, but you cannot smoke morphine in its non-freebase form. Morphine freebase is just morphine. Most formulations of morphine are either morphine salts (MSO4) where the freebase is protonated, or morphine hydrochloride which is morphine that is treated with hydrochloric acid (HCl). In order to create morphine freebase, you have to extract the morphine from the formulation by chemically altering the composition. This is really no different to producing crack, which is the freebase of cocaine. The most common reason for producing morphine freebase is in order to make heroin, which can then be smoked or injected.
Previous answer
To freebase morphine means to smoke that stuff off some foil with a straw.
Once a hospice patient begins using morphine what is the time frame?
Using morphine as a drug does not tell what amount of time a person has to live. if admitted to hospice, usually the patient has 6 months or less to live. Morphine is used mainly to control pain.

How long does it take for morphine to leave the blood or urine?

Are some people immune to Morphine?
Yes they can be. I personally had an epidural with my daughter and it did not affect me in any way other than to stop labor. Once in the operating room they did a spinal on me 3 times and i could still feel everything, but not wanting to be asleep for it, i just gritted my teeth and tried to pretend i didn't feel it after they said if i could still feel them cutting me i would have to be put asleep there was no way i was missing my daughter's arrival, and although I passed out twice, I managed to stay awake and see my daughter before going back out. After some complications and bleeding heavily, i finally got out of recovery and into a hospital room, where they had me on a morphine pump... it did nothing. I could still feel all of the pain, and there was no "fuzziness" that they warned me about. They upped the dosage and still it wouldn't help any, and then gave me a shot of it, and still it did nothing. I asked the nurse for a Tylenol, and even-though she looked at me like i was insane, she got me one. I took it, and within 30 minutes the pain was gone.... This is becoming a growing concern in the medical field, and i am not the only person in the region to have this "immunity". While most dr's will ask questions about drug use and other causes for common immunity to pain medication, a lot of people who have this "immunity" have no history of any substance abuse problems. I did have major health issues as a child, that involved pain (knee tendon issues, irritable bowel syndrome, early onset arthritis and such) but was never on medication for them other than over the counter things like Tylenol, Advil, and Aleve, so in short, yes it is possible.
Generally, no its rather cheap.
It grows for free in some plants. If processed/purified from opium, it might cost pennies a gram.
When imported and turned into a medicine, it might go for ~$36 per gram. If it ends up a street drug (illegal sales) it could go for as much as a dollar a milligram. ALthough there are no set prices when it comes to street drugs, the price will be as much as the market can bare.
What is a lethal dose of morphine in a respiratory distressed patient?
this would be dependent on the health of the patient and their resistance to the drug
drug resistance is normally built up by using small amounts over a long period.
the commonest cause of death for reformed drug addicts is a relapse....... if an addict took (as a theoretical example) 100units of a drug (say heroin) to get high on a regular basis but the reformed and got "clean".... they could easily kill themselves with a small portion of this dosage (say 1/2 unit) on their first re-injection.
I take high levels of opiate painkiller several times a day (I suffer severe neurological pain) and when I was given morphine by an emergency crew, it had no effect... a doctor had to administer over 10times the normal dose to dull my pain.
I don't recommend trying it
