Is it safe to take a 60 mg morphine to combat percocet withdrawal?
Morphine will reduce the withdrawal symotoms, but will do nothing toward detoxing from the percocet, since both are opiates. You will simply go into withdrawal again when the morphine wears off. You need to be detoxed in a medical setting.
Is 40 mg of morphine too much?
Too much for what? To be taken orally or injected? It is important to note that the bio-availability of morphine is three times greater when injected. I am by no means suggesting injecting it because of the highly increased risk of death, but a normal oral dose for one person could kill that same person if injected. One thing about opiates is that tolerance can develop very quickly so for a cancer patient who's been on opioid therapy for years 40mg would not be an effective dose. Theoretically there is no "ceiling" on the tolerance on opiates. That being said, one with little or no opiate tolerance 40mg could be too much. With such a vague question it is hard to give a definitive answer. All I can say is that if you do start to feel the symptoms of narcotic overdose (can find symptoms online) get to the ER and they will give you an opiate antagonist which will reverse the effects of the opiate. It's a very effective antidote for opiate overdose so be aware of that. I'm not going to be like most people and say don't use it because I doubt that would to any good if you've already decided to, all I can say is be safe. Opiate addiction is no joke as I've been fighting it for years, so just be careful and keep it in check.

Morphine Sulfate withdrawals are the same as most any other opiate/opioid (with some exceptions and slight variations).

This is hard to answer. Morphine can cause the inhibition of some muscle contraction but there is many factors whether or not it will interfere with analgesia.
1. The amount of morphine taken.
2. The user's tolerance to opiates.
3. Would need more info about the analgesia.
If you are on low doses morphine (50-80mg) Daily or less, this shouldn't be an issue. Past this dosage, i would talk with your physician about it before.
