Usually, what makes your bowel movement take on a green color is large amounts of spinach (or cabbage, or other similar vegetables) in your diet, or eating foods that have a lot of food die in them (like a large amount of popsicles or jello). It's doubtful a soft-drink would have any effect on the color of your poop.

It really depends on how long you leave it in the Mountain Dew. Once I did an experiment to see if Mountain Dew could dissolve an eggshell and I left it in the cup for 24 hours . The only thing that happened was that it dyed the egg yellowish green. If I would've left it in longer, it probably would've dissolved.

It could possibly because of its sugar content (which could help with symptoms such as low-blood sugar) and amount of gas (which could help with releasing internal gas) but it is not necessarily the only soda that could help with these problems...
