Muhammad Ali suffers from Parkinson's disease, a condition that is genetic. It was agravated somewhat from his boxing days, but not too much. One of the reasons I have little respect for Larry Holmes, is because it took him 11 rounds to bring down a Parkinson's afflicted Ali. In his position I would not have accepted the fight; Ali was in no condition to be fighting anybody, it was a really low down thing to beat on a man suffering from Parkinson's. Frankly, I was happy to see Tyson drop the @$%#.

Cassius Clay changed his name after converting to Islam. He announced that he was a Black Muslim and changed his name to Muhammad Ali instead of Cassius Clay.

Muhammad Ali first won the title (as Cassius Clay) over reigning champ Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964 in Miami Beach... He successfully defended the title 9 times before being indicted for refusal to serve in the Army, which resulted in his being subsequently stripped of his title and boxing license

He won the title for a second time on October 30, 1974 in Kinshasa, Zaire (now known as Democratic Republic of Congo) by defeating reigning champion George Foreman. He successfully defended this title 10 times before losing it in a shock upset to 1976 Olympian Leon Spinks in February 1978.

He won the title for the third and final time in a rematch with Spinks on September 15, 1978 in New Orleans. He retired after the bout and made two ill-fated comebacks in the subsequent years (1980 and 1981)

On August 17, 1967, Ali (aged 25) married 17-year old Belinda Boyd, and she changed her name to Khalilah Ali, though she was still called Belinda by old friends and family. They had four children: Maryum (b. 1968), Jamillah and Liban (b. 1970), and Muhammad Ali Jr. (b. 1972).

In 1975, Ali began an affair with Veronica Porche, an actress and model whom he later married.

At the time of their marriage, they had a baby girl, Hana, and Veronica was pregnant with their second child. Their second daughter, Laila, was born in December 1977. By 1986, Ali and Veronica were divorced.

On November 19, 1986, Ali married Yolanda Ali. They had been friends since 1964 in Louisville . They have one adopted son at 5 year old, Asaad Amin.

Sir Henry Cooper, the English heavyweight boxer known for his left hook, twice faught Cassius Clay (who later changed his name to Muhammed Ali).

Their first bout took place on June 18, 1963 in a non-title match at Wembley Stadium, just outside of London, England. Near the end of the fourth round of that match, Cooper landed his trademark left hook on Clay, knocking him onto the ropes (which prevented his fall to the canvass). The referree reached a count of five before Clay rose with his arms dangling at his side, an easy target for Cooper - but then the bell rang, ending that round. Clay won the fight after it was stopped in the fifth round due to deep cuts over Cooper's eyes.

Their second bout took place on May 21, 1966 in Highbury Stadium in London. Clay had changed his name to Ali, and was now the world heavyweight champion. This time, the fight was stopped after a severe cut on Cooper led to his being unable to finish the sixth round. Ali won on a Technical Knockout, although Cooper was ahead at the time on the scorecards.

Cooper passed away on May 1, 2011, just two days shy of his 77th birthday.
