The number of muscles in the human body varies from about 656 to 850, depending on which expert you consult. No exact figure is available because there are a variety of opinions about what constitutes a distinct muscle (versus a part of a complex muscle).There are also people that have muscles that most others do not, and just the opposite, there are some people that do not have some muscles that most other people do.

Involuntary muscles are muscles that are not controllable consciously, and instead contract due to unconscious impulses sent by the autonomic nervous system or certain specialized cells or hormones. Both smooth muscle and cardiac muscle can be classified as involuntary muscles. Smooth muscle is comprised of spindle-shaped cells that have no striations and is found in numerous locations throughout the human body. Cardiac muscle is striated rather than smooth, and is found only within the walls of the heart. Smooth muscles are involuntary muscles composed of thick and thin protein filaments that are homologous to the organelles known as myofibrils found in skeletal muscles. The thin filaments are composed of a globular protein called actin, while the thick ones are made up of a motor protein called myosin. Smooth muscles require extracellular calcium ions to contract: the ions activate a nucleotide called Adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which then activates the myosin filaments. The myosin filaments attach to the actin filaments in a process known as the crossbridge cycle, which causes the thick and thin filaments to slide over each other and contract. When the myosin filaments release the actin filaments, the muscle relaxes.

It's possible -- but let's not worry too much yet. I'll explain. In that a sarcoma is a tumor (benign or malignant) that occurs in cartilage or bone, and it's easliest detectable symptom is usually pain in that area, it might feel like a pulled muscle, which also hurts. However, pulled muscles are LOTS more common than sarcoma. There's a saying in medicine: "When you hear hoofbeats, expect horses". In this case, I would not assume the more exotic diagnosis of a sarcoma as the first choice. There are maybe 40 things that would come first on the list, and at the top of the list would be bruising of the bone or muscle at the sight, or a strain, sprain or pull.

Girls have extremely strong legs, alot stronger than boys. I have had young girls get me around my neck with their legs and squeeze so hard I passed out. When there 2 or 3 girls attacking a guy at one time, he will be in big trouble. I've been held down while two girls sucked on both side of my face, leaving huge hickys and laughing. syaing, "Awe what's the matter? That's proof that 3 little 11 year old girls beet you up." So beware, girls can be vicious.
