In the episode "Judgement Day (Part 1)", Franks and Jenny are talking in an abandoned diner in the California desert and she indicates that she is dying and reveals that she regrets her decision to leave Gibbs in Paris and that she's still in love with him. The episode is "Chimera", the 6th episode on season 5. Gibbs' team is sent to investigate a death aboard USNS Chimera, a top-secret naval research ship sailing in the middle of the ocean. After boarding the ship, they find it abandoned except for a dead U.S. Navy scientist, who died from viral hemorrhagic fever. However, they suspect that they are not alone. Their investigation is further complicated by the Navy's reluctance to share information regarding the research which took place on Chimera. Ziva's belief in the supernatural is shown. They later find a man on board, and he is questioned. The navy finally admits that there is something on the ship, but didnt say what it is, and Gibbs retrieves it. Later, Russian State hired pirates go to the ship to pick up the item, but the NCIS team trick them into being left on it, with the ship disabled and the team going off in their boat. It is later revealed on the boat that the item was a soviet nuclear warhead. Just as they finish talking, they hear a loud noise, turn around and see a missile destory the Chimera.
