Because like many good shows it is interesting and exciting, and is both well-acted and well-directed.
The disease Jenny Shepard was suffering from was never revealed on screen. However, in the 12th episode of the season 5 we do see Ducky run a blood test that showed elevated levels of creatine kinase and we also see him look at a brain scan. At the end of the episode, it was implied by Gibbs that Ducky was doing the blood test and looking at the brain scan for Shepard since he couldn't think of anyone else Ducky would cover for.

According to Wikipedia, elevated levels of the enzyme Creatine Kinase is used to detect Muscular Dystrophy, as well as Heart attack, Rheumatoid arthritis, renal failure and muscle breakdown. All of which are horrible diseases and definitely a horrible way to die.

Upon further research because a brain scan was ordered I am assuming that the specific creatine kinase test was measuring CPK-BB (creatine kinease of brain tissue). An alteration in this value could be indicative of cancer of the brain. I got this information from a laboratory and diagnostics book that I use in the hospital. It could explain the medication that is found in her purse in the first part of the season finale of the fifth season.
Ducky and Mike Franks assumed she was going to die soon, which could rule in muscular dystrophy, though she has almost no risk factors as muscular dystrophy is a disease usually of young men, probably not heart attack, unless it lead to heart failure, which she had almost no risk factors for, renal failure is a possibility, but she was not on dialysis and a brain scan wouldn't show anything in her renal function, they would run creatnine or BUN tests if it were renal function they were concerned about, rheumatoid arthritis is a bad disease, but isn't extremely deadly in and of itself and once again brain scan wouldn't show much they would do tests for antibodies and similar tests to those run for lupus.
I don't have a lot of information into this my best guess is brain cancer,but they didn't give us much information to go on.

Truth or Consequences is the first episode of NCIS Season 7. The team (Gibbs, Tony & McGee) go to Africa to rescue Ziva who gets captured by a terrorist. The next episode is Reunion where the team investigates the death of 3 people who were part of a bachelor party. During this episode Ziva and Tony try to settle their differences and trust issues.

There are no episodes in which Ty and Abby hug, except for maybe the Valentine's Day episode "Pucker Up" and the Christmas episode "Let Them Eat Fruitcake" which I have never seen before. It is possible that they could have hugged in those episodes. But, other than that, no.
