Who made the network Nickelodeon?

etymologically, Nickelodeon- is a blend word of nickel- a five cent coin, and Odeon which lliterally meant voice of the Gods, and was a famous theatre in Paris, Bernhardt having beena regular attraction. In popular usage from about the turn of the century to the twenties the term meant A. a coin-operated player piano, common in Western Bars, B. a coin operated movie machine of the type that was generally hand-cranked such as International Mutoscope. and By Extension- a Juke Box . The modern use of Nickelodeon as a juvenile TV package is entirely different than the original meaning. I do not know who invented the Player piano, Both Edison and Berliner were activ e in the phonograph field, including Juke Boxes, or coin-operated phonographs which sounds more dignified. other than that- there was a popular song called Nickelodeon where it is clearly a music device- either a player piano or a juke box. I hope this is of some help, Nickelodeon is indeed an old-fashioned if not obsolete term, good to see it revived.

What is the most popular show on Nickelodeon?

Naturally "popular" is a fairly broad term considering that can only be gauged with ratings and those can change monthly, weekly & daily, and of course are you speaking of kids shows on cable, syndication, PBS, network (granted there aren't many kids shows on network anymore), also are "Family" shows considered "Kids" and vice versa ...

... however looking at the Cable Nielsen ratings for September 7th 2012, it appears Spongebob Squarepants is currently the most popular i.e. highest rated kid's program.

See Provided Link and keep up with the ratings to see which kid's show is the most popular.

Is the Nickelodeon show My Life as a Teenage Robot not just for kids?

No.

Netflix allowed their contract with Viacom (i.e. Nickelodeon) to expire so they no longer stream Nick's shows.

If they ever resign with them perhaps, although in June 2013 Viacom announced they partnered with Amazon to allow them to stream their shows, so it is currently available through Amazon.

What was the oldest continuous show on Nickelodeon?

The oldest Nickelodeon show is Pinwheel. It premiered 1977, when the network debuted & when it was called Pinwheel. It aired until 1990.

When the network changed its name in 1979 & officially became Nickelodeon, some more shows premiered but didn't last as long as Pinwheel... Nickel Flicks, America Goes Bananaz, By the Way & Hocus Focus. These lasted 1, 2 & one lasted 3 years

-

If by chance you meant the oldest currently running show, that would be SpongeBob SquarePants. It debuted in May of 1999 & continues to produce new episodes today (July 2015).

-

Although one could make the debate that The Fairly OddParents could be the oldest show having debuted as part of Oh Yeah! Cartoons in 1998 and continues to produce episodes today although the actual series didn't begin until 2001.

Is it legal for a 17-year-old to go out with a 40-year-old?

Is it legal to date him? Probably. Is it legal to have sex with him? That depends a lot on where you live. Can your parents stop you from seeing him if they don't approve of the relationship? Probably. Like it or not, until you're 18, you're a minor. That means your parents have the right to decide who you can/can't spend time with. But the bigger issue here is why would a 40 year old man want to date a 17 year old girl? Most (and I'd venture as far as to say *all*) normal, well-adjusted 40 year old men would balk at the idea of having this kind of relationship with someone who's less than half their age. Most adult men who date young girls, do it because (1) they are very immature themselves--and immature men don't make for very good life partners and/or (2) young girls are easier to control--big, big warning there! Now I know you're probably saying 'but it's not like that with us'. Honey, we all want to think we're the exception to the rule, but very few of us are :) Be smart! Listen to your head as well as your heart.

What episode of the troop shows Hayley hinting that she likes Jake?

She shows interest for him in a lot of episodes, but the one I find most memorable was "Batteries Not Included". Hayley is continuously telling him that he isn't in the same league as the girl he likes. At the end of the spisode, Jake is asking her why she thinks that the girl is in another league than him. Hayley says that she wasn't in his league, and that he was a much better person than her. He asks who is in his league? She smiles, and he smiles too, but she doesn't get a chance to answer him, DANG IT! I hate Hollywood script writers....

What are all the things the comvee from the wild thornberrys can do?

In the popular Nikelodeon series, "The Wild Thornberrys", the comvee (Communications Vehicle) has an array of gadgets and "modes" in which in can operate.

It uses each gadget and/or mode for unique purposes, usually to defend the vehicle, and those inside, from some type of natural disaster - though this is not always the case.

For instance, next to the comvee's primary doorway, on the left from the interior, there's an emergency switch box with a selection of triggers to activate in case of certain types of emergencies, like storms or other natural disasters. It's been shown to have a switch for everything from Floods, Stampedes and Monsoons, to Avalanches, Dust Storms, Tsunamis and Earthquakes.

{Amphibious Mode}

The comvee possesses an infatable raft, that's held in an all-around compartment, located below the vehicle, and just behind each tire. The raft is composed of a number of floats which can be used to allow the comvee travel above bodies of water. A large air compressor at the rear of the comvee serves as the source of inflation. Essentially, it's amphibious, meaning it can easily traverse both land and water. This raft can be triggered via a remote controller device, a button on the dash board, or even by activating the switches next to the "Flood", "Monsoon", or "Earthquake" emergency box located next to the primary entrance, though Earthquake is usually accompanied by shielding over the windows. Propellers can also be extended from the vehicle's bottom in this mode, to allow for propulsion 'cross water bodies.

{Submersible Mode}

The comvee can also operate as a partial submarine. It has a water-tight submersible mode which allows it to travel under water, as seen in the episode "Reef Grief". In this mode, the comvee's window edges are sealed via water-tight shields, and "balancing fins" extend from each side to allow balance in submerged conditions. (Under Water) This can also be seen in the episode "Pack of Thornberrys" when Donnie is playing with the switch box. This is also accompanied by propellers which extend from the vehicle's lower rear, near the bumper.

{Security System Mode}

The comvee has a security system which shields the entire body on the right and left sides with iron panel-plating. It's quite dense, and serves as a great protector from outside threats. Nigel first activated this system in the episode "Thornberry Island", where the family was trapped afterward, since the release switch was located inside the comvee at the time, though this may have been changed afterward.

{Other Gadgets}

The comvee has also been shown to carry other gadgets in relation with the aforementioned modes.

These gadgets include hooked ropes for securing the vehicle's position, which can be fired from forward ports, as seen in the episode "A Shaky Foundation".

Also, the comvee possesses a periscope, (submarine scope), an anchor which can be dropped from the bottom of the vehicle

The comvee also carries a forward plow which can be used to "force" its way through an avalanche, or thick amounts of snow. This is usually accompanied by a pair of tracks which cover the rear wheels of the vehicle, similar to track tanks or snowmobile tracks, to make travel over icy regions easier.

Aside from a satellite dish, shortwave radios, equipment, and other things you'd commonly find in a traveling motor home, that's about it. I apologize if I missed anything and I hope this answers your question. God bless you and be safe.
