I will have to disagree. Gary Ridgeway wasn't identified by DNA until 2001. Prior to that, a number of rapists and murderers were identified by DNA evidence, but were not considered "serial killers" because they were caught having committed one or two murders; it takes at least three to be called a serial killer.

The very first murderer to be caught by DNA was in Leicester, England; after a man had confessed to two rape murders, DNA proved his confession false and identified Colin Pitchfork as the true killer. This was in 1986 and the DNA was key to exonerating one man and identifying and convicting another. But this case was for two murders.

The first serial killer case in the US, was in 1988 when Timothy Spenser was identified as the "Southside Strangler" in Richmond, VA.. He was arrested based on DNA for the rape murders of four women and a fifth victim was later identified. Another man had been convicted of a 1984 murder and spent five years in prison until DNA connected that murder to Timothy Spenser, for a total of five convictions. Also exonerating an innocent man and identifying a guilty one.

Statistics can be manipulated to a certain degree but more serial killers come from the states of California, Washington, Texas, Florida and Georgia. With the exception of Washington state killers seem to like warmer weather.

From the reports, the arteries and vessels, the police scoured that house with forensic equipment and found zero traces of any blood. They also looked in Scott and Laci's vehicles and found a minuscule amount of blood in Scott's truck (on the driver side door) which Scott explained away as saying that he "cut himself on his tool box door." Stabbing is just not possible with forensic evidence to prove it.

There was a rumor that Tommy Debarge's wife Duckie, was killed by Alton Coleman, a black serial killer. I have not found any document to that effect and the list of the Alton Coleman's victims did not include her. Being killed by a serial killer is supposed to make head lines.

The woman in question was Dorothea Puente. She buried all the bodies in her gardens. Most were men with mental problems, sent to live at her boarding house by authorities. She killed for their social security money.

He had one legitiment son and probably numerous illegitimate ones.

She was found guilty of first-degree murder on May 8, 2013 and she got life behind bars.

The name is Monster (2003) which is a 109 min Biography, Crime, Drama. It is based in the life of Wuornos, a Daytona Beach prostitute who became a serial killer. Charlize Theron plays Aileen.

He left a trail of clues and got him arrested. Along with his 13 with his son murdered three people and tortured four families. He had jewelries that belong to the victims and the odor or his cloth smelled of glue he used to glue shoes.

He was examined and found to have a subnormal intelligence quotient of 84 and were found to have a Psychophysiological nervous disorder and later escalating to a major mental illness in the form of schizophrenia of the paranoid type.

He began telling psychologists that God had sent him to earth on a divine mission. This consisted of helping people whose brains had malfunctioned because they wore badly designed shoes.

You may be thinking of Ed Gein. Gein was in part the inspiration for the fictional character Hannibal Lector, aka Hannibal the Cannibal. At first Gein, of Plainfield, WI, used the skin of corpses that he dug up from a nearby cemetery. Later, he resorted to killing, which resulted in his arrest and trial, and a lifetime sentence in a mental hospital. Gein would indeed wear the skin of his victims including the skin of their faces worn like a grotesque mask. He also decorated his rural farmhouse with lamp shades made of skin, bowls out of skulls and other nicknacks. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, at least in Gein's case it is.

He was pretty much disgoranized. His MO consisted of what he though at the moment when he got his hands on a new prey. He kept changing MO's because of that.

He is. Ng sits on California's death row still going through the appeals process that is mandatory for any death penalty case.

Aileen Wuornos is an example of a disorganized killer.

Well we know what happened to half of the famous organ. It was turned over first to Scotland Yard by it's receiver George Lusk, the leader of the East End Vigilante Committee. At that point Scotland Yard sent the kidney to Dr. Openshaw, the pathologist curator of the London Hospital museum. Dr. Openshaw's opinion was that is was in fact 1/2 of a human kidney, taken from a female in her 40s, that had indulged in alcohol more than was good for her, and that she was in the advanced stages of Brights disease. The chance that it could have been anyone other than the Ripper murder victim Katherine Eddows, would have been almost impossible. Without modern DNA testing this was about as positive a match as anyone could ever get.

This is an interesting question. I'm not sure that there is one particular type of car or vehicle that is used by these types of killers. It would have more to do with the killers MO (modis operandi) and signature.

Ted Bundy drove a VW Bug. He hunted college girls, so he needed the 'look'. Nothing looks more like a student than a Bug. He seemed completely harmless. He had a cute little car, a charming smile, and sometimes a cast on his arm or a fake police badge.

There are other killers that need more room. They find a van or some a pickup truck with a camper on top. Green River Killer Gary Leon Ridgeway in Washington state sometimes used his RV. (Recreational Vehicle). That worked great for him. He killed more than 40 women.

Some like a sporty look, giving them a 'smoother' look, or one that can afford to show a girl a good time. But one thing that is almost universal with serial killers. They spend huge amounts of time in their vehicles. If nothing else, serial killers stay mobile. They troll, plan, plot and then attack.

Whatever kind of car or truck they drive, it will be something that is functional as to their needs to pick up, kill, and then dump bodies.

Interesting fact:One criminal profiler after studing the case histories of the victims accurately predicted the killer would drive a red car. He did. Others can tell if they will drive nice cars that they keep clean or others that drive old junky type cars that they never wash and there is so much garbage they barely can fit a passenger. This sometimes has to do with whether the killer is considered 'organized or non-organized'. It can help narrow the field of suspects for law enforcement officers.

Jeffrey Dahmer butchered his way into history in a repellent orgy of murder, necrophilia, mutilation and cannibalism. His killing began in June of 1978, when he killed a 19 year-old hitchhiker he'd invited over to his house for drinks. His killing would continue until July of 1991. Over the years, Dahmer developed a routine that involved drugging his victims, killing them, having sex with the dead bodies, dismembering them, and in some cases, cannibalizing them. As the killing became more commonplace, he began photographing his victims at various stages of their dismemberment.

She was. It is little known but in 1976 she married a man that had picked her up hitchhiking. Lewis Gratz Bell was 69 years, Aileen was 20. They were married in Kingsley Georgia but the marriage soured after only a month. Aileen could not seem to mend her ways. She felt she had the right to go out to bars every night after they married. Bell was having none of it and he made a break for it. When filing for divorce he claimed Aileen had beat him with his own walking cane. I feel this was Aileen's chance to have a somewhat normal and happy life. Bell had plenty of money and she would never have had to worry or hook again. But she was, it seems, incapable of having a healthy relationship, at least with a man.

Denis Rader had it made. He was not even suspected in the series of murders know as the BTK killings. But whether he knew it or not, he left hints for the police at each of his crime scenes. Clues into his character that were his undoing. Profilers knew the kind of criminal if not the 'who' that committed these crimes. They knew he would like to brag and take credit for his work. So in the years when BTK was not killing they came up with a plan, and Rader fell for it.

There are commonly very few reasons a serial killer will stop killing. If he is caught, moves, dies or is incarcerated. If none of these are the case eventually age will take it's toll and he will eventually run out of steam. Rader was well into his 50s and may never have killed again. Or if he did, maybe more sporatically than before as a younger man.

When bated by police BTK could not help himself. He slipped back into BTK quite easily and had plans to kill again if he had not been caught. If you look at Rader's pattern, he had several years between some kills. He thought and planned and waited. This was part of his MO. Some killers will wait only weeks or days, usually accelerating their crimes as time goes on. So all killers have their own agenda and kill on a timetable that suits them. BTK just had a much longer 'cooling off' time then some others.

He'll be released from prison on August 24, 5333 (3-4 months before his 3346th birthday; meaning he'll die in prison).

North Carolina?

Right now police are investigating whether a North Carolina country road may have become the dumping ground for a serial killer. It sounds like it is a serial killer. This killer is a woman killer dumping the corpses near Seven Bridges Road outside Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Victim seven was found in neighboring Halifax County. These woman were black and most of them knew each other.
