Media has only one pourpose of glamorizing serial killers. Money. These movies profit well. Most of us have seen the latest serial killers series named Dexter. I am not moved by watching a serial killer being the hero of the youths. Whoever wrote this scrip is a high level IQ fellow who studied serial killers and it's traits.

I borrowed the dvds to study this fenomenon. I had to go through 4 seasons having 12 episodes. And the writer is right. Dexter is a low IQ fellow who looks like a high skilled high IQ fellow with 12 years of learning with his carrer as a blood spatter analist. He even had some kind of reatarted learning. By age 3, he could not pronounce his brother's name Bryan. As I said before, I didn't like this series but the writer had the right idea when he wrote this script.

The media protraits serial killers as highly intellingent. They need a equal intelingent detective to cath him. In real life, this is not true. Most serial killers are caught by accident. Ted Bundy was caught speeding. Dumb mistake. The son of Sam was caught by leaving his guns showing from outside is car. Dumber mistake.

The Unabomber did have a high IQ. He was caught not by a dumb mistake but by high thinking brain mistake. The Zodiac also had a high IQ and he was never caught.

Glamorizing serial killers in the media is a bad practice and even more, it is increasing the United States serial killers problem. Many people believe media is producing serial killers.

Yes, i do agree that it has something to do with pecuniary reasons. Everyone wants money, right? And the best way to accomplish that-in the media-is to feed the people what they want. Serial killers are fascinating and i believe alot of people think so. Their acts are gruesome and appalling. It provokes a myriad of questions. When you read about specific serial killers, you would think something like this :"Oh my! This sounds like a horror story!" For some people, murder feeds their intrigue. PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW and the media sees that...so they play smart and decide to take advantage of our curiosity. That's when we see documentaries of serial killers coming out and then it progresses to movies.

The origin of the term 'serial killer' is credited to former FBI agent Robert Ressler. While attending a crime seminar in Europe he heard another detective refer to such crimes as a 'series of murders'. From this Ressler shortened it to serial killer. Before the 1970s, there was no specific name for this particular type of killer. By the 1970s and 1980s there seemed to be an explosion of serial murders. Ted Bundy seems to be the first killer that earned the title serial killer. Unfortunately, he was not the last.

Henry Lee Lucas confessed and then recanted, to the murder of his mother when he was quite young, 14 years old I think. Edmond Kemper killed his grandparents as a minor then when released from the youth facility, he went on to kill young women and eventually his mother.

Aileen Wuornos was executed in October 2002 at Stark Prison in Florida.

Black serial killers are very rare. Most black multiple murders are classified as spree killers, or business related killers I.E rival drug dealers. Serial killers have very specific psycopathies. And blacks in the USA represent between 26&30 percent of the population and less then two percent of classified serial killers. Statistically speaking black serial killers are almost non-existent. It is true that 70-80% of people convicted of crimes in the united states are black. But one has to ask the question, is that a condition of poverty and urban life or psycopathy. In other words, is it their skin color, or their circumstance that drive them to commit their crimes. I'm inclined to think the later. Remember the statistic was based on those convicted of crimes.

Almost all are not. They are cool under pressure, calculating, cunning. This doesn't mean they are normal, they are not. Any human that can kill another human for no reason but their own twisted pleasure is not normal.

They are preditors and they must be clear-headed and alert. Most won't drink or take drugs to excess, especially right before or during the hunt and kill.

There are exceptions of course, but as a general rule these killers are not unstable. They would be caught long before the body count gets too high.

John Walsh, the host of TVs America's Most Wanted became an advocate for crimes against children after his own son Adam was kidnapped and murdered in Hollywood, FL in the early 1980s. Adam was taken from a department store with his mother nearby and was found much later decapitated. Walsh suspected that a drifter named Otis Toole was the murderer and just recently was proved by DNA testing. Toole wandered the country with another murderer name Henry Lee Lucas murderering and robbing any number of people. When Adam Walsh was taken, Toole had been left by himself because Lucas was finally arrested and was in prison in Texas. Toole was finally arrested himself and was sent to prison but was never charged with Adam's murder. He died in prison never admitting any guilt in the Walsh crime. Interesting fact:Lucas was originally given the death penalty which was later commuted by then Texas govener George W. Bush. Lucas and Toole claimed to have killed hundreds of people all over the country. When discovered that they had grossly inflated the number of murders they committed Bush felt he could not be executed for crimes he may not have committed, hence the commuted sentence. Lucas died in Huntsville prison in Texas without a true body count.

Augusta Gein His mother, moved to a farm on the outskirts of the small town of Plainfield, Wisconsin, to prevent outsiders from influencing her sons. Edward Gein left the premises only to go to school. Besides school, he spent most of his time doing chores on the farm. I have not found the name of the school he went while living in Wisconsin.

Jeff was a little boy that moved to a new home. The day he moved in his mother invited him to a birthday Party. He starts feeling a weird vibe. Well, him and his brother Lui were waiting at the bus stop and three teenagers start to attack them. Trying to stick up for himself, he starts to hurt them...and he gets satisfaction from it and starts to feel like he likes hurting people. The boys are left bloody, so they run away thinking they would be in trouble. So later on their parents find out it was them and without telling them it was the teenagers who attacked them first. Lui takes the blame and gets sent to juvenile. So Jeff goes to the party and the boys show up. In the end one boy sets him on fire and he wakes up in a hospital. In the hospital his face is healing with bandages and when they take them off everyone is both afraid and sorry for him. For him the face ' fits his personality '. Then, the teenagers confess it was the who attacked them first and Lui is not in Juvenile anymore. Then, one day the mother hears crying in a bathroom. She sees Jeff but way different then before. Turns out he's a maniac. He burnt and cut off his eyelids so he could never sleep and cut his mouth so he could always smile. The mother says "L-let me go tell dad to come see your face." Then she tells her husband to get his gun and Jeff sees this and says "You lied mommy...." then kills her, and the dad. If you really want to be freaked out look at the image.

The story is one of a number of completely fictional horror stories of the Urban Legend variety, most apparenty produced by the same writers on the site. They have no basis in reality although some may reflect known paranormal themes or true (criminal) events.

Kansas has it's well known convicted serial killer named Dennis Lynn Rader known as the BTK killer. Richard Grissom also from kansas was a serial killer aprehended for the killing of 3 women. Another serial killer was aprehended in Kansas even dough he was from Illioins, was John Edward Robinson.

I don't think so. The only serial killer I could find was Herbert R. Baumeister. It is uncertain as to how many victims Baumeister had. He committed suicide on July 3, 1996.

I found this list very interesting. It is a known fact the 86% of the world's serial killers are from America yet the top three are from Columbia with Russia coming in at a respectable second place. The most logical explaination for this is most likely due to the differences in police procedure and top-notch forensics. America may produce the majority of these types of killers but we also catch them much quicker, before they can kill hundreds of innocent victims.

Serial Killers are people that kill for thrill since they have no other reason to be going around butchering people. so if they do kill a string of people for no reason at all they must have no concsious or guilt which i think they should have. if they get sent to prison on a life sentence they may develop a conscious where they may feel guilty about what they have done.

Watts.Carl/Coral Eugene Watts killed many people,it is thought he may have killed hundreds.He confessed to eighty,but many unsolved murders are being investigated with him as the prime suspect.He did'nt follow any patterns, disposing of victims by any method.Stabbing,strangling,drowning he just killed people male and female.

Arias was born on July 9, 1980, in Salinas California.

Jeff the Killer was just a made up story on creepy pasta. If you're asking if the story is still alive, then yes, people still talk about Jeff on occasions.
