Which country has the largest share of Nuclear Power generation?

France has reduced it's Carbon emissions by 90% through the creation of the largest group of nuclear reactors per citizen. They produce 77% of their power this way.

The United States ranks first in total kiliowatt hours at 101,000 MwH's but only produces 20% of our power this way (shamefully).

Slovakia is the most balanced user with about 50% of their power from this awesomely affective method.

How long the atom bomb can be stored?

Under the correct conditions, indefinitely.

While the mechanics of an atomic bomb can be stored a long time, assuming proper maintenance, the fuel decays noticeably over time. After about a decade of storage, the fuel has naturally fissioned enough to produce "pollutant" fission by-products which ruin the bomb's explosive potential. That is, the fuel naturally decays, and the natural decay atoms will inhibit the proper chain-reaction needed to have a usable weapon. So, the fuel will last about a decade before it needs to be removed and reprocessed.

Also, if the fuel core is stored in the weapon (i.e. the weapon is stored "fully functional"), the residual radiation and heat that the fuel decay gives off causes significant problems for the weapon: the fuel configuration itself may change slightly or crack, the sensitive electronics may suffer damage from the gamma radiation emitted, and the chemical explosives may likewise suffer degradation.

Overall, while the time a given weapon design can be stored varies, and the exact times are of course classified, it seems that discussions about such topics in the open literature indicate that an atomic bomb needs to be serviced and checked regularly (at least every 6 months or so), and that few can be stored for more than a decade before needing a serious overhaul.

Is The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is responsible for stopping nuclear research in other countries?

No! The US NRC is solely responsible for regulating, licensing, and safety of US commercially operated nuclear power plants.

The original Atomic Energy Commission was split into the Department of Energy and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission because of conflicts of interest between military and civilian users. DOE is responsible for military uses, NRC is responsible for civilian uses.

What was the first weapon used by humans?

Sticks and stones have always been available for use as weapons. Either one could have been the first, but the stick may make more sense.

Do Aircraft Carriers carry nuclear weapons?

During the Cold War aircraft carriers had a secondary mission of nuclear warfare and its attack aircraft were nuclear-capable. However, it was policy to neither confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons aboard any naval vessel. Pres. George H.W. Bush cancelled the nuclear mission for all naval forces except SSBN submarines. Today there are no nuclear weapons and no nuclear-capable aircraft on our carriers.

Could the US reduce its use of oil by increasing use of nuclear power plants?

Yes, dramatically. Especially if we switched to hydrogen fuel cell cars and produced the hydrogen in the nuclear power plants by direct thermal conversion without generation of electricity.

Did world war 1 use nuclear weapons?

the answer to this question is simply no. The mere fact that nuclear weapons were developed until the 1940's makes it just a little bit hard to use a nuclear weapon in WWI (1914-18)

Is plutonium used in medicine?

Plutonium-238 power cells were used to power cardiac pacemakers some time ago (it prevented an operation to replace the battery -- back then, batteries weren't as efficient), but nowadays, long-life lithium batteries are being used.

Plutonium is toxic to the body, radioactive effects aside, so it's not used in medicine that I know of. Its half-life is somewhere in the neighborhood of 87 years, and generally you don't want something that takes that long to decay in the body.

Is India for nuclear disarmament?

Most of the nuclear power plants currently operating in the US are classified as.....?

Most nuclear power plants currently operating in the US are classified as pressurized water reactors (PWRs). These reactors use water as both a coolant and moderator to generate electricity through nuclear fission. PWRs are the most common type of nuclear reactor in use worldwide.

When was the bombing of bikini atoll?

Started in 1946 continued about every other year until early 1960s.
