Where does offshore drilling take place?
Offshore drilling takes place in various bodies of water, primarily in continental shelf areas of oceans and seas. Major regions for offshore drilling include the Gulf of Mexico, the North Sea, and the coastlines of countries like Brazil, Nigeria, and Australia. These sites are typically selected for their potential oil and gas reserves beneath the seabed. Drilling operations can occur at varying depths, from shallow waters to deep offshore locations.
Inhibition in drilling fluids?
Inhibited drilling fluids are mainly used to prevent shale swelling during drilling operations. These drilling muds can be either oil-based or water-based.
The most effective way to prevent shale swelling is using oil-based-mud (OBM), but water based muds (WBM) can also be used if such inhibitors like KCl, etc are added to the drilling fluid.
How much oil is coming out of the oil rig in the gulf each day?
Approximately 5,000 barrels per day. Since a barrel is equal to 42 gallons, this is the same as 210,000 gallons per day.
About 800 000L of oil is spilling a day.
About how many people are on an oil rig at a time?
Depends on rig size and type. Offshore Drilling Rigs (Semis', Jack-Ups, TLP, Ships) generally have 80 to 140.
The Deepwater Horizon rig caught fire due to the uncontrollable flow of hydrocarbons (blow out) to the rig floor. There were a number of explosions on the rig, with the first explosions coming from the engine room, as the engines went out of control (reved at a high speed). Later explosions were most likely the result of large supplies of fuel onboard the rig.
The rig ultimately sank as a result of the fire and explosions. The causes continue to be investigated. However, one critical factor for the blow out is likely to be the foamed cement used to cement in the final casing. Laboratory analysis has shown the cement formulation was unstable in some of the tests. Another factor is the failure of blow out preventers to close.

What is Red line markup in commissioning of oil platform?
Red Line mark-ups are when you take construction drawings and confirm them during insatallation and commissioning. Changes are marked in red.
How does oil get from gulf of Mexico oil rigs to refinery?
If the rig is relatively close to the sea shore and is located on shallow waters, oil pipes running through the ocean floor are enough to transport the unrefined oil. Otherwise, oil tankers (huge ships with carrying capacity of 2 billion metric tons of oil) are used to transport the oil from the rig to the refinery.
What are opinions on Info Oil-Rig-Job Coza?
I couldn't find something of that exact name. There are a variety of advertised oil rig jobs. Please know that they require experience and training.
But that they do not require any "advance fee" or credit card information.
As a general rule of thumb, if money is demanded in any type of way there is a high possibility it is a scam.
Scams are known to ask for air-fair, shipping costs, deposits. Companies that do charge will pay everything up front and you will pay it back once you start working. A set amount will be taken out each week/month.
Many laws and regulations govern where wells can be drilled. Offshore blocks are are under the control of the national government. They identify the offshore blocks which have potential for oil exploration.
A company or group of companies can lease a block for a period of time. Typically, a drilling permit is required in which the Operator (holding a lease on a block) will have to demonstrate that the drilling is within the rules and laws of the country to gain approval.
A company can be held liable for environmental damage, so oil companies are highly motivated to drill wells only where they receive permission.
Where have battles been going on over oil and gas drilling in much of the past decade?
nowhere ,,,,,your a dork
Oakley Conduct's vs Oakley oil rig's Which one is better?
This question doesn't make sense. Oakley versus Oakley. A one-piece lense versus a one-piece lense. The Conduct is built to be light and the Oil Rig is built to be rugged-looking. So if you want something light go with conducts if you want something a bit heavier go with oil rigs. Both glasses are typically worn by "tools" especially if you ask for them in white
Why it is important of cementing in drilling well?
Cementing is important for many reasons.
1. Cementing keeps the casing secure.
2. Cementing keeps contaminants from flowing from upper zones to lower zones (ie: from ground surface to water aquifer)
3. Cement is a protective sheath around casing.
4. Cement acts as a hydraulic seal.
5. Cement seals off "lose circulation" zones.

Oil rigs are used to drill wells in the earth to extract crude oil and natural gas.
What is work of tool pusher in drilling?
To keep the rig tirning right to ensure enough personnel and equipment are available at the right time. to keep the personnle from being hurt, keep the Well controlled and to keep the environment safe.
Works in the oilfield. Rigs up/down rig, lays down and picks up pipe, trips tubing/rods in/out hole. Is the bottom man on a 4 to 5 man crew
They are found in many parts of the world - wherever geologists think oil may be found.
