How many animals died from the 2010 oil spill?
Although the statistics are kinda uncertian, I'd say well over the thousands. The ten thousands. Maybe even a million. I mean, Think about it. The animals IN the water ON TOP OF the water and AROUND the water, IN the sand, the list goes on and on. Lets just say every animal that comes close to that oil mess is in risk of a 99.9% of getting covered in sticky burning thick oil that will 1) drown them 2) Suffocate them 3) Burn them to death{the oil burns to the touch} or 4) Other like they swallow it or whatever. In which they cant do with out getting in to it :( Its really sad!

On March 24, 1989, the Exxon Valdez ran aground on Bligh Reef in Prince William Sound, Alaska. The tanker was traveling outside the normal shipping lanes in an attempt to avoid ice. Why is it dangerous to swim in the ocean after a oil spill?
After an oil spill, the ocean would be polluted with toxic oil and will kill sea creatures that are near the spill according to many researchers who have seen dead sea birds covered with toxic oil. If you swim in the ocean after an oil spill, your body can be infected with bacteria from the toxic oil and get diseases from it. In other cases, you could probably lose your life.
What are some remedies for air pollution?
There are many kinds of environmental pollution, such as air pollution, land pollution, water pollution and noise pollution.
All un-natural pollution is caused by human beings, there are too many people on the planet for the planet to support and our natural and industrial waste is destroying (polluting) the natural environment of our planet.
We can take steps to try and process our natural waste products and to clean up our industrial effluents but in the long run unless we do something to reduce the numbers of humans on our planet, we will destroy our environment to the extent that it will no longer be fit for human life and our species will die off.

Also, tourism declined in the area due to closing beaches or concern that the beaches would be closed and seafood unsafe to eat.
Finally, the prohibition of exploratory deepwater drilling following the spill, means that many rig workers will lose their jobs. This is more a consequence of the US government's decision to place a moratorium on new drilling than a direct result of the spill.

It's several miles under the surface of the water and BP did not have a plan of what to do in a 'worst case' 'what if this happened' disaster. BP is just making it up as they go along. They keep trying ideas to see if they will work, and when they don't, they try out another idea.

Oil will adhere to many surfaces. Many natural materials such as straw, grass, coconut husks, wood chips and mats made of hair will absorb oil. I have included links to some of the manufacturers of commercial sponges and chemical products.
These links may be more promotional than factual, as I don't believe there is any product that will absorb only oil. There are many materials that will have an oil preference.
When a small spill occurs in calm water, particularly a harbor, lake or river, use of containment booms and absorbing material may be effective. Also, absorbents can be effective for soaking up land spills.
