Chad decided to pursue his film career, so they left "Peyton" out too since they both were needed to continue together. As a result, the producers worked it all into the next season by having it mentioned throughout some episodes that they left Tree Hill to travel. Many fans stopped watching in response to the major story being originally about the relationship between Lucas and Peyton. When they disappeared the show took an awkward turn and never truly recovered.

Brooke watched Angie while she was in America having heart surgery, and then after the heart surgery was preformed successfully Angie was sent back to her country.

a boy named Jimmy brings a gun to school b/c he feels left out and he's confused.

the school is on lockdown and he's in the hallway with keith who is trying to talk him out of using the gun.

he winds up shooting himself, but after he falls dead, dan walks in the empty hallway, picks up the gun, and shoots keith.

this gives dan the pleasure of having noone know it was him, b/c everyone would naturally assume it was the kid with the gun.

dan gets away with it, but a girl named abby was behind miniblinds in a classroom and saw the whole scene go down, therefore after all is said and done, there was a witness to the killing of keith, which will ultimately send dan to jail.

In season 8, Jamie gets into a car accident with his teacher and two other students. Brooke happens to be driving by and gets the teacher and other student out of the car but Jamie is trapped. While trying to cut through Jamie's seatbelt, a drunk driver hits their car, plunging it into the river. Julian jumps in to save them and eventually manages to get them both out of the water, but Brooke wasn't breathing. He does CPR and revives her, and Jamie is unharmed.

Keith, Jimmy and Quentin were shot and killed. Keith by Dan, Jimmy committed suicide and Quentin was murdered in a gas station. Peyton was shot in the library during the school shooting but survived it.

There have been rumours going round that Peyton sawyer will leave one tree hill in season 7. Hallarie Burton the actress who plays Peyton quotes " I just want everyone to know how much i love Peyton sawyer and my crew. And I've had a really good run and i wish i had creative controll over the show you guys but i don't." That speaks for itself really, i doubt very much she will be back in season 7. They will probably kill her off, but how is un known yet.
