What take for breakthrough pain while on ms contin?

This cannot be answered on the NET because it depends on cause of pain, age. weigh, other meds and full medical history including current in person exam by qualified doctor. SEE A DOCTOR.

That said, I know someone who takes 30mg ms contin tid and for breakthrough pain 10mg hydro qid which would be very strong for some and not for mild pain yet not strong like other drugs used to treat severe cancer pain but be sure, no one needs oxycontin unless short term post surgery or chronic pain from terminal illness but considering addicts, I'm in favor of legalizing all drugs at taxation reward system ,like the successful Portugal Plan since only idiots don't know war on drugs started by Nixon had failed by 1975 and is worthless, adds to addiction and difficulty of people in real pain getting meds as Patients Bill of Rights demands.

How long does the drug symboxin stay in your system that is used for opiate withdrawal?

The drug is actually called Suboxone. If you are thinking about using this drug to come off of other opiates or opioids such as Heroin, Oxycontin, Oxycodone, Vicodin, HydroCodone, Fentanyl, etc etc, as a recovering Oxycontin addict, I highly recommend not replacing one for the other. Suboxone will help the symptoms of withdrawls, and even make you feel high like the opiates do, but someday you will have to withdrawl from the Suboxone. My best suggestion, and I am speaking from recent experience, as in I am going through detoxing from 400MG of Oxycontin a day, cold turkey. I wanted to get on Suboxone or Methadone, but realized I would have to DT from that one day as well. Here is the real solution to kick the habbit.... -7 Up and lots of it -Water and lots of it -Tylenol PM and lots and lots of those....sleep through as much of the detox as you can, your body will detox whether you are awake or asleep. -Hot long showers -Anti-Nausea medicine -Some people will recommend some anti diareah medicines, but it is best to just get everything out. Drinking lots of water and 7 Up will help you pee a lot of the drug out. -You will get an unbearable headache on about day two of detox, this is because when you are high on opiates, the veins in your head are contracted and are very small...when you start to lose the drug the veins swell and cause the headache. Best idea for this is a cold pad or wash cloth on the forehead and the back of the neck. The cold contracts the veins and makes them small again. Also Ibuprofen for this will help. To answer the original question the Suboxone will stay in your system about the same amount of time as the opiate itself, a few days max depending on how much you are doing daily. Please take into consideration the home remedies for withdrawls. You will save so much money rather than going through rehab. Make sure you have close friends and family around to support you as well, because believe me, you will want to book out that door and get your fix as quick as possible. Once you make it thru 48 hours the rest is a cake walk. Again I am a recovering Oxycontin addict. I was SMOKING at least 3-400 MG a day. A dose that would normally kill someone. And coming off of it sucks, its hard, but it is doable. Follow the easy remedies I listed above, and another secret...Clonazepam .5MG will knock you out. SLEEP through as much of the 72 hours as you can. Remember YOUR BODY WILL DETOX WHETHER YOU ARE AWAKE OR ASLEEP, SO TAKE LOTS OF IBUPROFEN, TYLENOL PM'S AT NITE TO HELP YOU SLEEP, HELL TAKE EM DURING THE DAY...SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP AND THEN ON THE THIRD OR FOURTH DAY YOU WILL WAKE UP AND BE CLEAN! GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE TRYING TO GET SOBER OFF OF OPIATES, ITS A HELL OF A DRUG TO COME OFF OF, BUT IF I CAN DO IT ANYONE CAN. ***If anyone would like any other answers or helpful tips with kicking opiate habits please feel free to contact me. As I am typing this up I am on day three of detox, I can help please email me if you need help or suggestions:bellaitalia21@gmail.com

No, its merely a proton pump inhibitor, which means that it decreases the production of acid in your stomach, its usually prescribed for people with ulcers to decrease the pain associated with them. Morphine could very well nauseate the dying man, which means that vomiting in his condition would be very uncomfortable, as well as non-productive. Will someone who is on methadone maintenance test positive for opiate or is it nessesary to include methadone on the list of drugs to be tested for?

Yes it is. Methadone is often sold to people other than the user. So it is 100% necessary to include methadone on the list of drugs they test for to make sure that you are taking it. Giving methadone to somebody else can easily kill them. Your dose is designed for you, what is OK for you could kill somebody else. And if that should happen, you would be charged. You would be responsible for that. I am on methadone and they test us for it. METHADONE IS AUTOMATICALLY TESTED AT METHADONE CLINICS ALONG WITH OPIATES, BENZODIAZEPAM, COCAINE, ECT.

Does morphine cause brain damage?

Do you have to have opiates in system to get prescribed suboxone?

You don't really have to, since opiate withdrawal is rarely fatal. However, opiate withdrawal lasts a long, long time. The worst of it lasts for weeks, and you might not feel 100% well again for over a year. Basically, it's like a horrible flu that lasts for months.

So, since most people cannot afford to spend 6 months in bed, going cold turkey usually isn't an option. People have jobs and families to attend to. But it is possible, and some people do choose to do it.

Will laboratory testing show poppy seeds as drug use?

It could definetily show up as opiates, Many years ago the poppy seeds used for eating had a substanial amount of morphine, today they are very low count and are checked, maybe you wouldnt have a problem with it.

Poppy seeds come from the same plant that is used to make opiates, such as morphine and heroine. Eating a poppy seed muffin, within 48 hours of a drug test, can cause you to test positive for opiates. It is reported that most drug testing agencies will not admit that their tests will result in false positives due to poppy seeds. However, the television show Myth Busters tested this myth and found it to be true.
