Whats the difference in ovulation and discharge?

Ovulation occurs when your egg is released. This usually occurs about 14 days after your last period. A discharge is simply a substance that leaks from your vagina. You may notice a white substance in your underwear, which is known as a discharge.

Why have you had spotting for 4 to 5 days after your ovulation day for the last 2 months on exactly the 14th day of your cycle and can you get pregnant then or is this like a period?

you can get pregnant and would not be a period, if the spotting more than light best to see your gynecologist - & don't forget about yearly pap smears

AnswerHello -

Im really not sure what could be causing the bleeding. Spotting can be releated to pregnancy or UTI and some women have claimed to experience spotting when ovulating but Im really not sure myself.

Because the spotting isn't your actual period then its still possible to get pregnant. As this spotting is abnormal for you, see your doctor for a investigation into the cause of your bleeding. Good luck.

What are the chances of getting pregnant during ovulation if he just puts it in for a couple of strokes but it was after he came in a condom?

Very High. Too high to mess around with. After he has ejaculated inside of a condom, semen remains on the inside and the outside of his penis. If he then takes the condom off and puts it right back in you, it's basically just as bad as if he never put one on in the first place! In general, great care should be taken to make sure that his semen never gets anywhere near your vaginal opening, including the come that remains inside of his penis for up to a few hours after ejaculation.

Careful ladies!

Can you fall pregnant on the last day of ovulation?

Technically the ovum (egg) needs to be fertilised within 24 hours of it being released for it to become a pregnancy. The trigger for release is a rise in a certain hormone which "ripens" the egg. Your cervical mucus changes as this hormone begins to rise in anticipation of fertilisation. The cervical mucus can also keep the sperm alive long enough for it to meet the egg. Therefore women are said to "fertile" over about a 3-4 day period. Unfortunately you cannot tell how soon after you begin the period will the egg actually be released. It is USUALLY about three days - but can be two or four or even five days. I am not actually sure how you are judging your ovulation period, but theoretically you can get pregnant the day after. Ovulation isn't an exact science and when you ovulate can change month-to-month. I actually fell pregnant 4 days after I thought I was "fertile" - so you can never tell.

Is it normal if you are trying to conceive and your cervix is low soft and open with thick white discharge during the middle of your cycle?

What you describe sounds like the fertile point in your cycle. This happens every month whether you are trying to conceive or not. Every women and male partner should know how to recognize these characteristics. actually when your fertile your cervix is high soft and open.also your mucous should be clear slippery and usually stretchy when your fertile.some woman explain it as raw egg whites.your mucous has to be a so called "sperm friendly enviroment". thick white mucous is not sperm friendly.

You are pregnant and you are wondering what the chances are that you got pregnant on your period and not on your ovulation date?

What is ovulation and how do you try and avoid pregnancy?

Ovulation is when an egg is released and attaches to the wall of the vagina. (When it is ferilized, this is how someone becomes pregnant.) Every woman ovulates at a different time of the month. You can get pregnant whether you're ovulating or not, but it's way more likely if you are.

Could this be implantation if five days after ovulation and I am spotting a watery red liquid and I have an urge to urinate often but it is very little when I go accompanied by an itching?

That doesn't sound like pregnancy. Implantation a woman can have spotting but not watery red liquid. It's very light spotting and it's not accompanied by itching. It sounds to me like an infection. Any type of itching in the vaginal area isn't normal and you should go see a doctor asap to figure out what's going on down there. Go see a doctor immediately okay? Hope you'll be okay and take care of yourself. Sounds like you have thrush huni...you can get a cream & tablet to sort it out. Get your fella to use the cream too coz you can clear it up and he can give it back (blokes dont generally suffer from it but can carry the infection!) x

Is there any chance you're pregnant even if your basal temp maintained the lower range throughout the month which shows that there is no ovulation due to no surge in temp which is very unusual?

Basal body temperature (BBT) charting is a good way to get to know your body's menstrual cycle ups & downs. Remember however, that BBT charting is only accurate if you have had at least 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep and you took your temperature immediately after you awake and before you get up out of bed and you use a BBT thermometer. With that being said, let's briefly discuss what the BBT charting will show you. A normal, healthy woman should see a biphasic BBT chart. That means you should have a chart at the end of the month that shows two distinct temperature groupings with one being higher than the other. This biphasic appearance means that the phases of your menstrual cycle are happening fairly normally and that for the most part, all your hormones are functioning normally. The first part of your BBT chart should have temperatures that are slightly lower than the 2nd half of your chart. The lower temp's are due to the estrogen heavy 1st half of your cycle; the higher temp's are due to the progesterone heavy 2nd half of your cycle. Ovulation will occur as a slight increase in temp over 24 hours (up to 0.5 degrees) about midway through your cycle. Once you have ovulated and the 2nd half of your menstrual cycle starts to kick in, you should see a rise in temperature that will remain elevated until your period starts. On the day your period starts or the day before, you may notice a drop in your BBT. This most likely means you are not pregnant. If your BBT remains elevated for approximately 18 days in a row after ovulation and you miss your period, you are most likely pregnant.

Why aren't ovulation kits catching your LH surge when you know you are ovulating?

If you are charting your basal body temps, you would probably know when you are ovulating (although you wouldn't know when until you've ovulated). Another way to tell is by getting an ultrasound done. I would suggest you to try another brand and see what happens. I also had one particular brand that didn't detect the surge, while few others did (I tested all three side by side). So you could be ovulating, but opk is not detecting it. Good Luck!

Can you be pregnant if you are 6 days after ovulation and you have all sorts of odorless cervical mucus egg white and creamy stretchy and tons of it sore breasts and metallic taste in mouth?

Yes - you could be pregnant. Unfortunately it is too soon to know for sure - as these symptoms could be something else. My first symptoms were sore breasts and bloating - and this started about 10 days after ovulation.

When will you expect ovulation period if last period was January 28th2010?

The days around ovulation (between 10 to 16 days before your next period) are when you are at your most fertile. So, if you are trying to conceive (get pregnant), this is the best time of the month to have unprotected sex with your partner.

What are the chances of being pregnant if five days after sex you are having back pains and your breasts are tender but not the nipples?

Implantation does not take place until at least 7 days after intercourse so there are no hormones to give pregnancy symptoms. You may find in another two weeks that you are pregnant but there is no way to tell 5 days after intercourse. Having said that, I was once asked at a family party if I was pregnant (not because I was putting on weight or anything) 3 weeks later it became apparent I had conceived the night before the party.

Can treating a yeast infection during ovulation affect your chances of pregnancy?

No, they have no affect on each other. But it's probably not the best thing for your yeast infection to have sex. It could make your worse or spread to your partner.

Is it possible to get pregnant at any time or does pregnancy only occur at the time of ovulation?

The ovum lives for 12-24 hours after ovulation so conception occurs within this time. However, sperm may live for up to 5 days so it is possible to have intercourse a few days beforeovulation and still get pregnant. In a regular (28 day) cycle you ovulate on the 14th day and if not pregnant your period will start exactly 14 days after ovulation.

Where might one find an accurate and trustworthy ovulation predictor?

Ovulation predictor kits are fairly new to the 'baby' market. When you are trying for a baby it can be quite a stressful time, especially if you have been trying for a while, so utilising every day that is a 'good' day for intercourse is very important. Ovulation predictor tests can tell you when you are ovulating so therefore maximising your chances of pregnancy. They can be bought over the counter in most good chemists or drug stores as well as leading supermarkets. They can also be bought online from leading pharmacy suppliers.

Which symptoms of ovulation are considered normal?

For the majority of women, ovulation starts every 23 to 35 days but this can be delayed due to environmental factors such as stress. Ovulation pain is one of the common symptoms of ovulation and is felt as a pain around the lower abdomen. A drop in body temperature is also noticed during ovulation and a normal increase is faced after ovulation. The cervical mucus will also be watery like a raw egg-white during this period, these symptoms are all normal symptoms to face during the period of ovulation.
