Reducing pain medication should preferably be done with the help of a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, psychiatrists/psychologists and other healthcare providers who specializes in pain (if you suffer from pain) and dependence. If you are a pain sufferer, before withdrawing from pain medication, you should be assessed by a pain clinic and advised. Its useless to try and stop if the pain will come back and drive you back to the meds, although sometimes a break is required to make the medications more effective.

Although withdrawal can be done alone, it is much harder. In essence the idea is to reduce the meds slowly, so the body does not recognize the lowered dose. For opioid addiction, some clinics offer methadone withdrawal treatment, which basically replaces the narcotics and then is reduced slowly. Because it lasts a long time in the blood, it helps prevent withdrawal. There will be times during the process where you will not be able to continue going down, without first staying on that dose, or even upping the dose a little for a short period. The body needs to stabilize on that dose before going down further. Other drugs are often used to help someone with drawing from pain medication, such as benzodiazepines, clonodine, sleeping tablets, anti-inflamatory drugs etc. but they must be used with caution as some are addictive or have other side effects.


If you are a legitimate pain sufferer, you will most likely need to check into a hospital or drug treatment program - preferable not one that deals only with street drug users (heroin etc.) - so that the pain can be treated when it returns without addictive medication. Addiction programs often have little understanding or sympathy for the needs of pain patients, which can cause distress and unnecessary pain.


Beware! A note of EXTREME caution - people withdrawing from narcotics are more likely to overdose at this time - this is because they are feeling lousy and they take the same dose as before they started lowering the dose, and this can be fatal. The body adjusts to the lower dose and taking additional narcotics, even the same dose more often, can leave the body more susceptible to overdose. It's best done under medical supervision.

Some highly recommend suboxone (Buprenorphine) but you would have to come down
to a lower dose first (to the opioid equivalent of 30mg Methadone per day). There are other protocols, including withdrawal under anesthetic, but it's essential to find out if it's appropriate for you.

Not sure for Oxy, but i have taken it during a period i was on probation, smoked about 2-3 days prior, my test was specifically for THC, i went and asked about how could i pass the test at a Health Store, and they offered me the Jazz drink and 3 pills(which probably wasn't needed), I'm gonna assume the pills were niacin pills and probably a masking pill or fiber pill all together they ran me about $50 quite expensive but worked.... needless to say i passed every test for 6 months and my record was cleared...So i would advise anyone to do the same, not some GNC type store, because they are usually just employees trying to sell product and will try to make you buy the most expensive kit on the market. So due to my first-hand experience i would say yeah Jazz as instructed should work, but also see what else you can take along with it to guarantee beneficial results, Peace!

Immediate release is for break away pain. For the now effects to where extended is for a longer period. For example you take a extended release, And your next 1 is in 6 hours but you are feeling pain again in 3-4 hours, you could take the immediate release.

Well, buprenorphine (the active ingredient in suboxone) has a mean half life of around 40 hours. But buprenorphine is very unique, in that it has a ceiling effect around 4 mgs. This means that if you take 8 mg a day, approx. 40 hours later (depending on your metabolism) you should still have the same effects as when you first took it. Also, buprenorphine has a very high affinity for opiod receptors in the brain and it will not allow any other opiate/opiod to occupy those spots. So to put all of this info together to give you the answer to your question, I would say, that depending on your metabolism, it will take about 4 half lives to feel the full effect of oxycodone. To make it easy, I would give it anywhere from 3 to 5 days. But keep in mind you can take oxycodone whenever you wish after you take suboxone, but you will not get any effects from it. (CAUTION! all of this stuff I have told you is assuming you do not IV your suboxone because when you IV suboxone the naloxone becomes activated and that is a very different pain in the ass)

Oxycontin is the slow release of Endone. Oxycontin is usually given for its slow release capabilities meaning that over a 12 hour period. No matter what size dosage. But check with you G.P as they will tell you the exact dosage that they would like you to be taking as it is so addictive.

Percocet are much stronger then vics. They contain Oxycodone which is a more powerful drug.
Vicodin and percocet are about the same,your body metabolises different from everyone elses. While Vicodin might work really well for me percocet might work better for you. I have a vitamin D defeciency and fybromyagia and have asked my doctor to put me on Hydrocodone 5/350 as the 5/500 I am on now are not working for the pain.

You can but it is not recommended. If taken in large doses or if someone has no tolerance to either the opiate (Oxycontin) or the benzodiazepine (diazepam), the person may experience slowed breathing and a slowed heart beat. Either one can be so severe to the point of death. But if taken cautiously and responsibly, it is possible to survive a dosing of Oxycontin and diazepam and have a fun time while doing it. Just don't drink any alcohol, none! It will raise your chance of dying from both those drugs by like 600%

No NO NO!!!! GOD NO as far as I know animals should basicaly never take any medication that is intended for human consumption As good as it may make us feel ( lol) Cats and all animals bodies are very different from ours and I just simply wouldn't risk it. Its like the chocolate things its amazing to us and deadly to them! So I am not a vet but in my experience I would never ever give any aimal any medication without first speaking to a qualified vet its simply not worth taking the risk of hurting the kitty.
