Karen Dianne Baldwin was born September 6, 1963 in London, Ontario, Canada. She was the first Canadian winner of Miss Universe in 1982. She hosted The New You, a Canadian fashion and lifestyle television program. She was also in the movie Who's That Girl starring Madonna and Griffin Dunne as "Heather." She is now a working producer in Hollywood, producing feature films with Baldwin Entertainment.

The Miss America pageant is the biggest scholarship pageant to women in the USA. In 2006, there were more than $45 million devoted to the winners for scholarship assistance and cash.

The Miss America pageant is split into five parts. Here are the sections:

1) Personal Interview

This section is less known to the public, since it is not televised or performed on stage. Judges will be in a room with each contestant separately, and they will have a conversation on current events and the contestant's opinion about such things. They will be marked for their accuracy and choice of words, their politeness and their confidence. Their personal interview will count for 25% towards their overall score.

2) Talent

In the talent portion, you are allowed to choose whatever you are most talented at to perform in front of the audience and the judges. Usually contestants choose dancing or singing, but a variety of different contestants also chose to play instruments, juggling, quick-draw painting, etc. The talent portion counts as 35% towards your final score, therefore being the one that counted the most.

3) Lifestyle & Fitness in Swimsuit

In this part of the competition, contestants will walk across the stage in their choice of a tradition one-piece suit or a more revealing two-piece suit (bikini), along with high heels. They will be marked for their posture, poise and fitness. The swimsuit portion counts for 15%.

4) Evening Wear

In this section, the contestants will wear their choice of evening wear as they walk across the stage. Judges will mark the contestant on their poise and bearing. This counts as 20% towards their overall score.

5) Onstage Question

This section happens during the evening wear night. The contestants will be asked a random question from a pre-written list with no preparation. These questions usually involve the current events around the world. The questions require for the contestants to have knowledge on this event and to also declare an opinion. This counts as 5% of their overall score.

A casual wear section was added to the Miss America Pageant in 2003, but removed in 2006.

A pageant wagon was used as a place for actors who were not associated with the church to perform. It was basically a stage on wheels. The players (actors) would take their pageant wagons all over Europe and perform to the public. The plays were usually presented in a comedic manner and that is why lots of people would go and see the performances.

From the 70s to the 90s, titleholders got to keep the crown, and a new crown will simply be made for their successor. However, this is only because the crowns used back then were made of rhinestone, or imitation jewelry - relatively cheap to make. Today, with the crown being used by the Miss Universe Organization costing around $300,000 and being made of pure topaz and Bohemian crystals (the previous Diamond Nexus Crown costs roughly the same amount, and the Mikimoto crown before that costs approximately $250,000), making one for every winner is simply impractical. From 2002 to 2007, Mikimoto, the crown-maker for Miss Universe at the time, provided smaller versions of the tiara to be given to the outgoing titleholders as a token, although succeeding companies Diamond Nexus and DIC did not follow this tradition.

Well, You should keep youre child Motivated and Practice on a Daily Basis according to Schedules. If you want to win You better get youre Nails done and become the Total Package. Its the Complete opposite of a Natural Pageant. Its Neccesary for Spray Tans and Flippers which are Fake Teeth. They want Full Makeup and Huge Hair. They want Shiny, Big Cupcake Dresses.

It is according to what pageant you are in. If it is like a fundraiser then the winner will usually receive a sash, a tiara, a trophy, and a little fake rose bunch. you might also win additional small trophies for stuff like prettiest eyes, hair, smile, etc. As for bigger pageants that have talent portions you may win a cash prize or a car or something else like that.
