Are scented candles harmful to parakeets?
Yes, they are, and any bird in general. Birds have very delicate lungs, meaning they're easily susceptible to fumes. I suggest you don't light a candle at all near your little friend.
Is oleander poisonous to parakeets?
Yes. Oleander is a poisonous plant in general to humans and animals.
What does it mean when a budgie has its leg up for a long time?
The bird could have a foot injury or other condition that makes it painful to stand on both legs. It should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

Can cold or hot body temperature cause a cold or sickness?
basically you can go naked outside, not get sick, unless if you have a warm body temperature... But if your body is using up its immune system to heat up the body, "sicknesses" can start to occur because your body has to be heated up even though your cold. Also you get the sicknesses through a virus that's in the air...
Not realy because they aren't very social. They are more for looking at. I would sugust a indore dog so it wont get ignored. Or if you dont like the hair part, you could get a Sphinxs cat(bald cat). they are are very loving and require little attention.
What happens when you have 2 girl parakeets and 1 boy in the same cage?
well first you want to leave a camera hidden in the room so that you can see them do the magic
because they won't do it while you are in the room unless you join in
first you would expect them to just go crazy but it will take a few minutes and expect to see some blood you may be jerking off by now calm down and do you like nachos
Should you bring your parakeet to the vet?
yes! make sure it is an avian vet who have special knowledge of the needs of birds.
Mine has been once when it was ill, tests and meds; and once a year for a checkup and a newbird checkup when they were babies.
Usually birds only lay eggs when they have been bred. such tame birds as these are not like chickens that lay all the time. how long have the birds been in a cage together? PS after the eggs have hatched, you should separate the male and female as they will continue to breed. also watch out for the offspring as they can and will bred in a very short time. We learned this first hand with one pair of Love birds- they kept laying until we separated the males from the females. We figured this out after a lot of trial and error. good luck!!!!!!!
Do you have pictures of parakeets?
I have many! Want to see one?
this is the Scarlet Chested Parakeet.
How can you get your parakeets to fall in love when one is younger than the other?
You cannot make parakeets fall in love with each other - it is up to them. Also, you need to make sure they are of opposite sex otherwise there is no hope of them falling in love. To improve the chance of them falling in love make sure they are happy and have everything they need - food, water, a big enough cage and possibly flying time outside their cage (if they are tame). Some parakeets need a nest box to breed, look up information in books or on the internet to see if that's what your parakeets need!
Can you put grass in your parakeets cage?
No, and anyways it wouldn't be logic. The grass would die in about six hours anyways.
Can a female parakeet nose turn blue?
I don't think so. I read that adult female parakeets noses are brown and that adult male parakeets noses are blue. But, young female parakeet's noses are "bluish" and a young male parakeet's nose is pink.
What do you do if your parakeet has a swelled beak?
Never heard of a "swelled" beak.
The beak sometimes grows too long in sick or older birds, and may need trimming by someone with experience (novices can cause much pain and bleeding, which could kill). Also burrowing mites will eventually render the beak misshapen, which could make it look swollen and often grotesque. This can be treated with ivermectin, a powerful drug that should be administered with great care according to directions, preferably by a vet.
Are parakeets happier when they live with another parakeet?
The parakeets would much rather be with other parakeets, THEY ARE FLOCK BIRDS!!! However, if you have more than one parakeet, they will not bond to you because they are bonding to the other parakeets. The reason that parakeets bond so well is that they are flock birds and so if you make yourself part of their flock, they will bond very well. But if you are wondering what would make them happy, they would much rather be with other parakeets. A good parakeet site is www.lisashea.com/petinfo/budgie.html
Why doesn't my female parakeet lay eggs she's 3 years old?
There are three reasons of MAYBE why she hasn't layed any eggs. Reason number one, maybe you haven't been feeding her enough, number two, she's not ready to lay eggs, or number three, this is a little disturbing but maybe it turns out, she's not really a female.
Why budgie female is not laying eggs even after mating?

Can a Parakeet and a Coceteil lay eggs with each other?
A parakeet and a cockateil cannot have a fertile egg because they have different genetic makeups.
Is there something wrong if your parakeet has hot feet?
Not usually and, if that's the only symptom, I wouldn't worry. Birds run at a higher body temp than humans, and if they get too warm, they cool off by radiating through their feet.
Parakeets breath through their cere, The small but cute set of openings located above their beak.
