Well I cannot tell for sure,but as much as any one person can tell the heart of another, I would have to say no,they appear to be atheists,they are a great band though, pray they will get saved.

Actually, Eddie, in lyrics--especially in the last two albums and Into The Wild-- refers to God by name and spiritually. He is not an atheist, nor does proof exist that the other band members, especially Mike McCready, are atheists. The closest guess, if one were agnostic--not atheist--would be Stone. Yet with his environmentist sensibilities, he probably believes in some sort of universal energy and faith. That's different than "atheists." For a fact, however, Eddie is not an atheist. I can't believe the comment above. Just listen to the more recent lyrics and note their choice of charities. Those represent "good works".

Its a rebellion song for sure, open to interpretation, given the grunge movement at that time, i guess its safe to assume it had to do with every thing American that went against the gunge culture and values of that time, which were being thursted upon the youth.

I was also looking for this and found on web that Vedder described "Just Breathe" as "as close to a love song as we've ever gotten," and said that the subject of the song is the happiest times of people's lives when they should just take in the moment and "breathe for a minute.
