If you are spotting before your period could you be pregnant?
One common cause of spotting several days before a period is low progesterone. Progesterone helps to maintain the uterine lining for pregnancy, and when progesterone levels drop, the menstrual cycle occurs. Progesterone-deficient women will see spotting several days to a week before their period is due. This can affect fertility and in some cases causes miscarriage. You can discover more about spotting in recommended link above.
Spotting can happen while you are pregnant, so take a pregnancy test or visit your doctor to confirm.
Light spotting followed by no period is actually one of the first signs of pregnancy.
Is it possible to be pregnant and have a period one month but miss the next month?
Yes, I am a living example of that I had the period that would be considered my first month into pregnancy already had found out i was pregnant it was the second one and so on that i did not get.
If you think you're pregnant go see a doctor or take a home test.
If you are no longer having periods could you still be ovulating?
You are probably not ovulating if you haven't had a period. But you ovulate before you have your period so you could start at anytime. If you second child is still really young or you are breast feeding, this could be the reason you haven't had a period yet. If your child is a few months old and you aren't breast feeding, talk to your doctor. They may be able to help you begin to ovulate and have periods. Not having a period isn't normally healthy. If you don't want anymore kids, don't use not having a period as birth control. It may not work.
When you say 'no longer' perhaps you are menopausal.
As hormones fluctuate so much around this time as a 'rule of thumb' if you are under 50 use contraception for 2 years after your last period, if you are 50 and over use contraception for one year after your last period.
If you are having regular periods, odds are, you aren't pregnant.
How long should you wait to have a blood pregnancy test?
I would say to go to the doctors as soon as possible, no need to wait! The worst answer would be that you are not and if so you can move on with your life. But yes set up an appointment today!!
It's very, very possible, but not a guarantee. You might just be late. Take a home test or go see a doctor to be sure.
Probably not. It is important to keep track of when the pains occur, how long, and are they intense or just uncomfortable? Don't be afraid to talk to your OB, the nurse practitioner or whomever you are seeing for pre-natal care. Even if you feel a little foolish, they can relieve your anxiety. And believe me they want to know. Good Luck!
You have nothing to be worried about. Period like pains are normal in the early stages of pregnancy, its the uterus stretching. Try and get as much rest as possible and do not lift anything at ALL!!
If you used protection on the last day of your period can you still get pregnant?
If you used protection and were on your period, you were pretty safe. Probaly nothing to worry about, but there is a chance of getting pregnant every time you have sex. Even if you are protected. Protection lowers the chances greatly, but it is still possible.
If you ovulate in a month do you have to have a period too?
Yes, if you ovulated, you will have a period. If not, then you are probably pregnant. If you haven't had a period and aren't pregnant, then you didn't ovulate. You said you ovulated, but there isn't any real way to tell unless you are testing yourself daily. Talk to a doctor if you have missed a period.
Can you be pregnant and have two periods in one month?
I think you should see a doctor. I've never heard of that happening. I mean, if you are pregnant and that's happening, your baby might be in trouble. But, if your not pregnant, I've heard of women getting two periods in a month. Especially when you are young and you've just started getting your period. It's normal for it to be all wonky for the first couple years. But, yeah, I think you should see your doctor.
Could a short period mean you might be pregnant?
Is having to pee frequently a sign of pregnancy?
When you become pregnant, your body is producing more blood and fluids hence the reason for frequent urination. It can happen during early pregnancy. Yes, from what I've heard. But I don't believe it's an early symptom of pregnancy, because it is only a zygote/embryo at that point. The larger it is (i.e., the fetus) the more pressure it puts on your bladder, thus causing you to want to pee. Yes! The uterus immediatly starts to enlarge to make room for the baby and this causes pressure on you bladder. You may not have to pee every hour, or you might, but you will notice an increase in bathroom visits. but if you are a boy..... i don't know what to tell you =p
If your pregnant and you still get you monthly cycle, then I'd see your doctor. I do know it is common for a woman to spot during pregnancy, but not to bleed. If you've had a period for three months now, than chances of you being pregnant are none because once the sperm fertilizes the egg, your body will stop producing eggs, which means you won't get a period. Stacey
This is not true for all women!! I personally know women who have had normal periods while pregnant. This occured with my sister on all 3 of her pregnancies. The doctor was not sure what caused this, but everything was fine with her pregnancies. Remember, each woman is anatomically different, and therefore her body responds differently to any given situation. Still it is always smart and safe to inform your doctor of any bleeding, and if you haven't been to see a doctor yet, please do so!

Can you still be pregnant even after you get your period?
Here are some personal experiences:
I was one month pregnant and I had my period the next month. While my mother was pregnant with me she had all her periods except the last three months.
After having what I thought was a normal 6-7 day period at my regular level of flow, I had a surprise miscarriage earlier this year. It happened on what I thought was the 18th day of my cycle (but I was actually 6 weeks pregnant.) We had been trying to conceive for about 6 months, and it was the first cycle in which I hadn't taken a pregnancy test on the morning my period was due. To save money, I made myself wait to see if my period was "late" before taking the test. Since I got what looked like a normal period, I never used the test. Now I test every time! It's 4 months later and we are still trying, now seeing a specialist!
They say 'when you miss a period that this is a sign that you are pregnant' this is not always the case. I have had three pregnancies, including one live birth and one lost. The first pregnancy I had two periods with, the second pregnancy I had four periods with and this pregnancy I had the first two. It's always tough to know as well because tests will say negative if you are still having a period.
Doctors would disagree, but I had 5 periods when pregnant with my last child. Yes, the normal (for me) 35 day cycle, and 10 day bleeding. The doctors will tell you "you can't get your period while ovulating" yet MANY women have occasional (or even frequent) cycles without ovulation. I also have endometriosis, so may have had something to do with it. I was told by a doctor my endo wouldn't "grow" or bother me while pregnant. He was wrong, too.
Does a short period mean you are pregnant?
NO it does not mean you are pregnant but if you are worried it doesn't hurt to take a test.
when the egg is fertilized it "burrows" into the uterus for about a week. You can bleed then but really lightly and it is not a period it is the implation. I would take a test just in case if you have other symptoms that don't go away.
usually you don't take a pregnancy test nine days BEFORE your period. i would wait until at least a week after when your period is supposed to begin. if you have a short period, it means you are not pregnant; it might mean that you are over anxious about being pregnant. stress can delay or hasten a period. if you're fourteen, however, i strongly recommend that you begin practicing safe sex.
Regardless of menstruating or not your body will still have the hormones for a positive test.
Do you have to miss a period to be pregnant?
Yes, if you are pregnant, you will not have a period. If you are having a period, you aren't pregnant.
NO I know from personal experience that you can still have your period even if you are pregnant, I had up till I was 5 months, my one friend had it the whole time and another had it for 8 months. My doctor ssys that this is common and not to worry. But you CAN HAVE YOUR PERIOD WHILE YOU ARE PREGNANT.
Could you be still pregnant if your home test comes out negative and you get your period?
Yes, you could still be pregnant. Home tests are only 50% accurate in telling you whether you are or not when it comes out negative, but if it comes out positive then it is 99.9%, because there is a hormone your body produces only if you are pregnant called hCG but it can be very low at first in some women and a home test usually only picks up on it when it reaches 20+.
I would concentrate more on the period. Was it a normal period? If it was an abnormally short or light period, chances you're pregnant increase. If it was a normal period, than that combined with the negative results on a pregnancy test probably mean you're not pregnant, but if you're having symptoms, you should still be careful and healthy, because its rare but not unheard of to have your period while you're pregnant and get negative pregnancy tests while you're pregnant.
Can a pregnancy test come back negative if taken too soon?
Yes, because there may not be enough of the pregnancy hormone present in your body and urine as of yet.
For some women even a week after a missed period can even be to early to detect pregnancy hormones. Also hpt doesnt always work. sometimes you have to take blood test to determine if you are pregnant. Take the test and it is negative try again in another week.
YES!
Is it normal to have a 27-day menstrual cycle when it is normally a 28-day or 30-day cycle?
The typical menstrual cycle in "text book" terms is considered to be anything between 21 to 32 day cycle.
yes that's normal
How long do you need to wait until you can take a pregnancy test?
Ideally you should wait until your period is late, that would make the test the most accurate. Most tests say even the day your period is due is fine. Some tests on the market say you can test up to 4 days before your period is due, it will catch some pregnancies, however you are most likely to get a false negative by testing early.
How long after a light short period should you test for pregnancy?
you can test during the period, or anytime afterward if you are concerned that you were pregnant during the light period.

If you are on your period does the bleeding stop if you become pregnant?
No, your period does not stop. I started my period on a Friday, had unprotected sex on Sunday & he did not withdraw, and continued my period as normal. I went to the emergency room the next month wondering what was wrong with me (the thought of being pregnant never crossed my mind) and turns out I was pregnant.
If you become pregnant while on your period does the bleeding stop?
Having sex during your period will make the bleeding appear a lot lighter or stop completely. It's nearly impossible to conceive while on your period because there simply isn't an egg in your ovaries...or in the correct position to be fertilized.
Your period doesn't always become lighter or just stop after sex during your period. Mine tend to become heavier and a lot more. There is also a chance of getting pregnant while on a period, but it all comes down to your menstrual cycle. Meaning your period and ovulation time can overlap making it likely that you can become pregnant while on.
There is a small possibility of your period stopping if your overlap (period and ovulation) is at the start of a period. Because sperm can live up to 3-5 days the egg can be fertilized near the beginning which could cause the egg to not be released.
