Why did Peter Pan remain in Neverland?

If you mean the Lost boys, they falled out of their prams when the nurses wasn't looking. If they're not found within 7 days, they get to Neverland.

Or if they're lost by their nannies in places such as Kensington Gardens, Peter (who often goes out from Neverland) finds them.

There aren't many girls in Neverland, because girls are too clever to get lost, (that's actually said by Peter himself.)

Who were the siblings of J. M. Barrie?

from Neverpedia:

  • Alexander Ogilvy Barrie (Mar 1842) was Jamie's eldest brother. He taught at the Glasgow Academy, and when Jamie went there at the age of 8, Alexander looked after his brother. He later taught at Dumfries Academy, where Jamie went when he was 13. At the time of the 1891 census, he was H. M. Inspector of Schools at Green Bank in Dumfries. He married Mary Cowan of Edinburgh in 1877 and they had six children: Lillian Knight, Ethel Margaret, Charles David Ogilvy, William Cowan Ogilvy, Eliza Dorothy, and Mary Cowan (all Barrie).
  • Mary Edward Barrie (Jan 1845 - 1918). She also taught at Glasgow and Dumfries and looked after Jamie. In 1879 she married John Galloway and they had two children: John Jr and Alexander O(gilvy?) Galloway.
  • Jane Ann Barrie (legally Jean Ann) (Mar 14, 1847 - Aug 31, 1895). She didn't marry, and spent the rest of her life as her mother's companion, dying just days before her.
  • Elizabeth How Barrie (Mar 12, 1849 - Apr 1, 1851).
  • Agnes Matthew Barrie (Dec 23, 1850 - January 1851).
  • David Ogilvy Barrie (Jan 30, 1853 - Jan 29, 1867) was Margaret's favorite child. While away at school in Bothwell, Lanark, Scotland, he fell while ice skating, and fractured his skull, on the day before his 14th birthday, when Jamie was 6. His death devastated Margaret, but she took comfort in the fact that he would always remain young in her memory.
  • Sarah Mitchell Barrie (Jun 3, 1855 - Nov 1, 1903). She was one of the witnesses at Jamie's wedding, but did not herself get married. She was a teacher. Later in life she kept house for her uncle Rev. David Ogilvy, who was joined by her father after her mother died.
  • Isabella Ogilvy Barrie (Jan 4, 1858 - Dec 1902). She married local man William Murray in 1880.
  • James Matthew Barrie (May 9, 1860 - June 19, 1937). He wrote things.
  • Margaret (Maggie) Barrie (July 9, 1863 - 1936). She lived with him in London at the time of the 1891 census. There she married fellow Scot William Henderson Winter in 1893, and moved to Hampshire, where they had a son, also named William, in 1897. Her husband was one of the witnesses at Jamie's wedding.

Peter Pan was a character in the 1902 J.M Barrie novel The Little White Bird. Later the play Peter Pan or the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow up was adapted for the stage (1904).

Disney further adapted the story into an animated movie released in 1954.

James Hart and Nick Castle furthe adapted the story for the 1991 movie Hook, directed by Steven Speilberg and staring Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, Julia Roberts, and Bob Hoskins.

In 2003 Universal Studios in cooperations with Columbia pictures released another full length movie based on the original Barrie story.

What is the Peter Pan Syndrome?

Answer

PETER PAN SYNDROME has been accepted in psychology and laypeople and, by some psychology professionals since the book "THE PETER PAN SYNDROME: MEN WHO HAVE NEVER GROWN UP) by Dr. Dan Kiley and published in 1983.

It characterizes the personality of an immature person and also includes narcissistic behavior. It groups those with this disorder an undependable, rebellious, anger, narcissism, dependency, and manipulation tendencies. According to Dr. Kiley, "Peter Pan" is the adult little boy who, when in a relationship or in seeking a relationship, acts out a need for mothering.

Dr. Kiley also wrote another book called, "The Wendy Dilemma" published in 1984. A woman who (often unconsciously) acts in a mother role. Contributing the other half of co-dependent couple's circumstances, her responses to the Peter Pan man, is over-protection, possessiveness, complaining, and "martyrdom."

A book written by most doctors is simply one man's opinion or a small group of men's opinions and does not make it necessarily true.

I believe while working with the human mind it is so important to leave dignity intact, and the quick labeling system demoralizes many patients. Patients with some diseases of the brain (that's right .. it's a disease just like diabetes, heart disease, etc.) sometimes can be helped, and most can cope through life and hopefully cured.

The brain, in the medical/scientific world has been the least studied of any other part of the body. Now it's catch-up time!

The brain is like a giant circuit system (like wires) that gives out signals to move our eyes, move our mouths, our limbs, etc. Nervous system disorders is a problem with a circuit that is not functioning, and thus, that is what depression and other so-called "mental" disorders are. Already studies and tests are being done to concentrate on the short-circuit system of the brain causing whatever problem that particular patient may have. I have read medical articles that there will possibly be something like (a pacemaker for a heart) put into the brain to control these dysfunctions of the brain. This would be a wonderful addition to the medical world because people with depression, nervous system disorders would no longer have to rely on medications and bad side effects.

Can Peter Pan come to your house?

If you want Peter to come to your house, it is simple, although he may not take you to Neverland. Peter took me to Neverland once but it was different for me. I am a descendant of Wendy Darling, the girl from the story, and Peter watched me every night until I turned 12 before introducing himself and telling me about my ancestory. When he returned me home, he told me it was the last time he was ever going to bring another person to Neverland. He said something was wrong with the island and he was beginning to lose the ability to fly and he was getting older. That was two years ago. I saw him again this year and he looked older. He told me why he was aging but I cannot tell you this.

He told me he still watches kids and listens to stories. If you want him to come while he still can, then you must do these things - tell stories, love stories, but adventures as well; leave your window open, always; get acorns, they remind him of Wendy; act younger than you are; believe in him; and the last thing is to get a rose, red and lay it on you window seal. If it stays alive longer than a week, he has visited you. He will replace the rose every time he visits if it's alive. Also if you find a Faire, (yes it's spelled correctly), it won't be Tinker Bell for she has been dead many years, because he is king of Faries he will come for him or her. Good luck.

How did Wendy know that peter pan had been in the nursery?

No, he isn't, but he appears in at least one of the Disney Fairies books.

Did Peter Pan kiss Wendy on the lips?

Yes. Near the end of the film, Captain Hook is upsetting Peter by stressing the fact that Wendy was leaving him and telling him that in the future, Wendy won't love him any more and that she'll get married. this makes Peter very sad and it drains him of all his previous energy. Hook is about to kill him, but Wendy temporarily stops him from doing so and bends down to kiss Peter. Now everyone knows that a kiss is a powerful thing, and in the movie, it makes Peter strong again and he defeats Captain Hook.
