Conflict of the phantom of the opera?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The conflict in Phantom is the love triangle that goes on in the show. Both the Phantom and Raoul want Christine to love them but Christine can only choose one. I like how Christine is on Raoul's side throughout the whole show/movie, but you can still get little hints that she does somewhat love the Phantom. If she didn't, she wouldn't want to be around him.

Don Juan is a rogue and a libertine who takes great pleasure in seducing women and (in most versions) enjoys fighting their men. Later, in a graveyard, Don Juan encounters a statue of Don Gonzalo, the dead father of a girl he has seduced, Doña Ana de Ulloa, and impiously invites the father to dine with him; the statue gladly accepts. The father's ghost arrives for dinner at Don Juan's house and in turn invites Don Juan to dine with him in the graveyard. Don Juan accepts and goes to the father's grave, where the statue asks to shake Don Juan's hand. When he extends his arm, the statue grabs hold and drags him away to Hell.

Raoul and the Persian get into one of the Phantom's traps and have trouble getting out. When they finally do get out, they are in an empty sewer. They hear the Phantom talking to Christine in another room. He wants to marry her. He is giving her two options to choose from: "scorpions" and "grasshoppers". If she chooses scorpions, that means that she will marry him and nobody gets hurt. If she chooses grasshoppers, that means she will not marry him, but he will kill Raoul, the Persian and everybody in the Opera house. She gives her by 11 o'clock pm to make her decision. By 11, she chooses scorpions. Raoul and the Persian hear that and think she is making a bad choice. The empty sewer fills up with fresh water, and Raoul and the Persian drink some of the water (because they have been in the trap for a long time.) The water keeps rising and rising and they don't know when it will stop rising. The water goes back down and Raoul and the Persian find the Phantom and Christine in the room they were in. When did Christine Daae die in Phantom of the Opera 2004?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

10 years after the fire (in the end of Phantom of the Opera), Christine goes to New York to sing for the phantom. Meg is hurt by the betrayal that she feels for phantom. Intending to shoot herself, shoots Christine instead.

This is in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Love Never Dies". It is amazing, I recommend listening to the soundtrack or purchasing the DVD. It will be available May 29th.

It never states in any version of Phantom of the Opera that I've seen/read how or WHEN she dies. Assuming you were asking about the 2004 version of Phantom of the Opera, Christine most likely died of old age.

Raoul was the old man in black and white for the movie. Raoul also got married with Christine because on her grave stone it said Countess Du Chagny.

In phantom of the opera how did the phantoms face become disfigured?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It depends on which version of 'The Phantom of the Opera' you are refering to. In Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, the Phantom sings about how he was born with a skin infection...which caused a "mother's fear and loathing". So it is most recently said to have been a skin infection, except that his musical version was slightly different from the original novel by Leroux. The most commonly accepted version and theory is that the Phantom was born with a disfigured face (and body). In the 1965 movie, his face was burned by acid, and in 'Phantom of the Paradise', his face is mutilated in a record press accident, just as an example of other theories.

What is the name of the Opera House in Phantom of the Opera?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The entire Opera Populaire in the film was built by the movie makers, on separate stages and as separate exteriors. They said they wanted it to be a complete, sensual character of its own. However, the original Gaston Leroux novel bases the story around the Metropolitan Opera House in Paris, which apparently does has an extremely deep labyrinth of passages beneath the opera house, and at the bottom a lake.

I believe that the rising action would be during the time between Christine accepting Raoul's proposal and her agreement to perform in the Phantom's opera, Don Juan Triumphant. Most of the action would take place during The Point of No Return, and the climax would be her unmasking him and then the scene down in the Phantom's lair.

Is Andrew Llyod Webber making a sequel to the phantom of the opera?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Andrew Lloyd Webber has written a sequel to The Phantom of the Opera. It will be titled Phantom: Love Never Dies. It will be based off the book The Phantom of Manhattan and take place 10 years after the original story ends. It will open in the fall of 2010. Ramin Karimloo from the London production and Sierra Boggess from the Las Vegas production are set to star in it in London and on Broadway.

There are rumours that Andrew Lloyd Webber is going to be making a sequel to "The Phantom of the Opera". Supposedly, it will be titled "The Phantom of Manhattan", and is based on a book that was made as a sequel to Gaston Leroux's book "The Phantom of the Opera", but by a different author.

The Phantom of the Opera is a very interesting book. I don't want to give it away for you in case you are going to read it, but some things you should know are: This book can be a bit confusing and hard to follow As much as I love the movie, the book is quite boring. There isn't much action as in the movie by Andrew Lloyd Webber, however it does have a lot of romance.
